hsbc internet banking - quick question

    Hia,

I've gone to log in today and now it's asking for DOB & 3 random digits out of my code as normal but then it's also asking for the full security number all in one go?

Have I ended up on some dodgy site or is this now the same for everyone, I assume they have just changed things but using ramdom digits each time seemed like a good idea as a partial defence against key loggers?

    Cheers,
    worto.

Sure you don't mean your online banking id?

Also just tried it didn't ask me either.

    mine neither

just tried, still random 3 for me, no way would it ask you for full digits unless youve been redirected to a bogus phishing site

thanks guys, just tried it from firefox and it's normal on there - just 3 random digits? It seems my IE might be infected with something?

I have AVG but thats not picking anything up?

Not sure what to do now?

As long as you havn't put all of you password in the dodgy site, just use FF for banking.

Check the security on any site before using it.

The url's are below - the 1st one is the one IE takes me to the 2nd one is the one firefox takes me to. I had to put 's at the front of them to stop them shortening

mod edit: have changed these links so they cannot be clicked, and won't work unless copied and pasted and the www. is restored. DO NOT enter any personal information at the above sites... always visit your bank's website VIA its homepage!!

I have nowhere to host piccies raps - does what I've done help? They both look pretty much the same to me?

tinker - I was trying to make them not clicky which I've managed to do now - can't imagine anyone would goto the trouble of copying and pasting that into thier browser before reading the thread

I'm pretty sure I have nortons around here somewhere so I'll give that a try - funny though I swapped from nortons to AVG last time I got a virus cuz AVG picked it up but nortons didn't?!?

Do some people have 2 antivirus's running at once?

gotta reboot now after doign some updates - will be back - thanks,
    worto.
