Hello everyone and welcome back to the competition. Unfortunately, Zarguio can't run the competition today, so I will be standing in for day 9 in his absence. All rules exactly the same, and he will be back tomorrow to continue the game.

On the first day of Christmas love_a_bargain and Mike73 dealt: a 2Gb MP3 player
On the second day of Christmas mrmr25 dealt: two dozen Christmas Crackers
On the third day of Christmas highguyuk dealt: 3 Full HD LCD TVs
On the fourth day of Christmas mrmr25 dealt: 4 return tickets to New York
On the fifth day of Christmas jennybubbles dealt: 5 Gold Rings
On the sixth day of Christmas san_j73 and bellarious dealt: 6 Digital Cameras
On the seventh day of Christmas harlzter dealt: 7 washing machines
On the eigth day of Christmas allstar2 dealt: a week in the Alps for a week over Valentines day, sleeping 8 people for £285

WELCOME TO DAY NINE OF THE HUKD TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS COMPETITION - DAY NINE!!!

If HOTUKDEALS isn't running a 12 days of Christmas this year then Zarguio is happy to start one himself..unfortunately no amazon vouchers up for grabs - but would be fun to do a little searching nonetheless.

For each of the twelve days, HOTUKDEALS members must find the CHEAPEST GENUINE ONLINE price for a given item and post it into the given thread for that day. Your price MUST include:

    1) Description of the item with title
    2) Where you've seen it (HAS TO BE ONLINE!)
    3) Final price as it would leave your bank account. This has to include any postage.
    4) Any mention of QUIDCO, IPOINTS, MUTUALPOINTS or other cash/points back schemes off the back of the deal. Just a word on this - in the event of a tie and ONLY in the event of a tie, QUIDCO and/or others will be taken into consideration.
    5) Your posting must begin 'MY ENTRY IS' so we can tell quickly that your posting is...well..an entry rather than just a comment. Ok?
    6) Non UK STERLING deals are allowed. But please use xe.com as your conversion tool to £ STERLING and post an IMAGE of that conversion with your posting. The rate changes throughout the day!
    7) Items should be delivered to your door. Deals where you can pick up items in-store won't count.
Unlike in last years' competition, REFURBS ARE allowed in this competition. They would be mentioned in the final posting onto the main board if appropriate (and cheaper!). However, its the new, non-refurb winner whose deal will be given precedence as there is a big chance that the refurb item will be withdrawn or made out of stock over a short period of time.
    9) Be inventive, and think outside of the box

Each search day will run from 9AM UNTIL 7.30PM and results will feature at the end of that day - the winner announced then. zarguio (i.e. me, and anyone else appointed in case I get really busy! ) has the final say over the winner for each day. We'd be starting on the 12th and running until the 23rd.

Items to be searched for each day will be broad rather than specific - giving you more scope to argue your case. Posters who remember last year's competition will know what I mean. Unlike last year however, you're allowed more than one entry - as many as you like. We're after the cheapest price here. I'm not a mod so can't delete or edit postings so its up to you to tow the line

Finally, again - I'm really sorry, but there's no prize for each day as I'm poor - unless ADMIN wish to add some vouchers here?!?!?, so its just for the love of searching. If anyone wishes to contribute a prize then that would be great. I believe a chappie offered some webserver space just before the thread was pulled - or was I imagining things? Get in touch if you have something to give back to the board

Right folks - this is DAY NINE (being posted early/late today, as I may not be able to post by 9am). And you'll be wanting DAY NINE'S QUEST. So that is:

FIND THE CHEAPEST ONLINE PRICE FOR NINE PAIRS OF BALLET SLIPPERS. (Day Nine is "Nine Ladies Dancing", so I'm trying to go with the theme here...). As long as they have the word "ballet" in the title of the shoe I don't mind what they look like, but they must be wearable on your feet! Take away any vouchers (these have to be usable by anyone) but add in shipping (!) and post it up on this thread, taking note of the guide above. What's the cheapest price?

You'll have until 7.30pm tonight to post the cheapest price you can find on the web. Any entries placed after that time wont be taken into consideration.

All the very best of luck, and merry Christmas!

    love_a_bargain & of course, Zarguio (x)

    Parp!

Hmmmm... yes, I think I'll have to agree with Zarguio on this one... They have to be wearable on your feet!

But I like your style Sadie!

so do we have to wait to 9 to start?

    Original Poster

No allstar2 - don't worry about waiting until 9... knock yourself out. I've just seen Sadie posted hers at 00:48 !!

I think you're being unfare to sadiebabes!

"As long as they have the word "ballet" in the title of the shoe I don't mind what they look like."

    You're moving the goal posts!

    Original Poster

allstar2 - The first entry also has an extra £1 for postage, so it totals £91.

The second entry is £4.95 for delivery, which brings it's total to £67.50 - which puts you in the lead.

    Great start!

Yes, yes I am moving the goalposts! However, I'm going to stand by my decision...:whistling:

I will change it in the title now.

Be nice, I've never done this before  besides, Sadie knows I love her dearly, and I commend her for her ingenuity! x

    My entry is

9x Pairs of Bloch Bunny Hop Ballet Slipper
    allaboutdance.com/s.n…=68

    9 x $9.75 = $87.75
    Priority/1st Class (USPS) – $9.35

    Total = $97.10
    Conversion = £48.71

Well done Andy - although as far as I can make out the shipping is $29.99 - $34.99 for International shipping. I've added the link:
    allaboutdance.com/inf…ing

Says the actual cost may vary, so in the interest of the competition I think we'd have to go with $34.99, which adjusts your total to $122.74 which, when converted on xe.com takes you to £61.66.

It puts you in the lead Andy, well done!

    Original Poster

excellent - well done harlzter. That puts you firmly in the lead.

    any more takers...?

My entry that can be worn on the feet (!!) is....

    marksandspencer.com/gp/…msf

9 pairs would be £12.50 delivered but they come in packs of 5 so 10 pairs is £13.50 delivered & the price that would come out of your bank account.

My 2nd entry if someone decides to move the goal posts again is...:whistling:

Sadie, I am going to allow your first one for sheer genius! However, "adult content" is blocked for me at work, and I dread to think what you have posted!! I'll have to look at that when I get in from work...

Otherwise, you are in the lead with the baby booty sock type thingys. :-)

    Lol l-a-b I promise it's nothing naughty...

It just a screen shot of the order...

    They're £2.18 x 9 = 19.62 + £4.48 = £24.10...

But if the baby sockies are fine then you didn't need to know all of that
