I dropped my iPhone in the toilet.

Err, any chance it'll ever come back to life?

    Anybody...

    Anything...

And yes, I had already flushed.

Ooh thanks. I'm such an idiot.

Take the phone apart as much as you can and leave it at room temperature for a couple of days, do NOT switch it on before then and it should be alright.

I don't even think I can get it apart, I'm not going to try. I'll buy some rice tomorrow.

Let's say this rice situation doesn't work...then what?!

claim for accidental damage on your house insurance (if it covers mobile phones, and if you have it)?

That's why you pay for accidental damage insurance:?

Dropped my Treo 600 (Yes it's old but i don't use a phone as a social crutch) into the bilge of a boat - oily water.:x

Took out the battery and disassembled it as far as I could then left it in the drying locker for a week.

Booted up fine. Reloaded all the contacts and we were away.

I've got the 'iphone in the toilet' app.

Had the toilet just been used?

Did you do it at 4 in the morning?

    :giggle:

Put it in a sock and leave it in the airing cupboard or somewhere warm / dry for a few days.

Don't pretend you don't have to use the toilet at 4am at your age. ;-)

In all reality, you'll be able to save it if it only went for a quick paddle, that's IF you're able to take it all apart and thoroughly clean it using the correct items and cleansers - however, I do recall that you are female.

As many others have said, if nothing else, whack it in the airing cupboard to help dry it - or, a quicker method is putting it infront of a working fan. Then after a good wait(I'd give it a week to be safe) try to turn it on.

If you don't fancy your chances of stripping it down, or you just think it's a goner, whack it on FS/FT and I'll buy it off of you for £5.

just dont try to turn it on otherwise you will shorten it
just dry it as long as possible

Having read that article I would like to reiterate that I am, indeed, a girl. I will get the fan out in a minute and put it by that, then I'm going to put it in some rice and sulk.

do you have an airing cupboard, take shell off and take sim and battery out and place on a towel in there

I don't have an airing cupboard and I don't trust myself to take it apart.

how much would it cost to send it off for repair, got to be cheaper than buying a new one, how old is it, sometimes if you pay by cc you are covered for a cetain time for accidental damage, certain cards i think

Too right you should be upset!

I didn't find the fact that you dropped a £400+ fone down your toilet the least bit amusing tbh.

I'm after one and would be well annoyed if it happened to me.

What model and GB is it?

Put it in rice then in the airing cupboard for a day or two then it should be fully dry hope it works..

    Epic fail for me:w00t:

    There's a pap for that

As probably mentioned on pg 1,2,3 .

Keep it turned off, in rice, quite warm place in clear a plastic bag inflated with some air stick some sellotape on plastic and put a sewing needle through the sellotape keep iphone covered in rice though

I would be dishonest a little and have it insured wait then lose it. and pay the £50 insurance will charge
