Samsung have told me its the graphic chip that is faulty and it will also need a new screen. Samsung have now had it for 2 weeks and counting...

Can you rewrite your challenge. I don't understand some of the wording.

My Galaxy phone stopped charging, called Samsung who advised they would collect it and a engineer would call or email me. It's been two weeks and I not even had a acknowledgement of them receiving my phone.

I called yesterday and they said they are awaiting parts and could not give a repair time. What a joke, what are they expecting me to use - Apple would have fixed this the same day.

Even though I'm a Android fanboy - I feel like going back to Apple as I'm not aware of any Android phone brand with a decent warranty.

    To summarise "AVOID SAMSUNG".

Samsung use the same company as all the high street banks ,lsg group ,just horror story after horror story ,maybe time to go apple

I would ask them to send it back in its current state and cancel your claim. You can walk into a Samsung repair store and have it done in a couple hours. It's £250 but you know where it is, the warranty is reinstated and it will be certified waterproof again IP68. Then buy a spigen case and screen protector... Oh and sell yourself to fund all this!

Gadgets and Gizmos, time to get off the Samsung boat, those products are going down....

I have had my Galaxy 7 Edge since April 2016; no issues to date.

Samsung are having massive stock issues at the moment. Many of their smartphone screens have been out of stock. Ask your local centre if they have stock before cancelling the claim.

Agree! spent £60 on a bulletproof screen protector and shock absorbent case. Been dropped once or twice and still looks like it just came out of the box.

Strange - Had my S7 Edge (insured through Nationwide) repaired by Lifestyle Service Group 3 times now and they've been fantastic every time. Not a single complaint. The IMEI has also stayed the same, so they've repaired instead of replaced.

To be honest Apple aren't always great either. Who is your network provider and did you take out the phone through them?

In fairness he did say halifax, I have Halifax Ultimate Reward Account, and its inclusive for both myself and my partner. but otherwise I would agree with you.

My hubby has a phone on contract through O2, first time contract. He was thinking about getting it insured incase he dropped it and the screen cracked.
Who is the best to take insurance out with and do they fix it for a cracked screen as some of the insurances I have had a quick look at say they won't fix it if its still working and it is just cosmetic.
Does this include a cracked screen ? Sorry if I sound dumb but we haven't got a clue as never insured a phone before

I'll give you a Litre of Snake Oil and 250ml of Youth Elixir.
Snake oil is in sealed condition.
Youth Elixir has the seal broken but still smells and looks like the day it was decanted. You know what they say, if it looks like p's and tastes like p's it probably is p's, or is that Red Bull?

I hope SAMSUNG get a terrible reputation and now struggle to sell these phones.
After waiting 2 weeks for a response from their customer service after an engineer claim I broke the phone despite no physical damage on it (with my initial case was the battery was overheating and crashing the phone), they replied it was my fault and impact damage and that I would have to pay £275 to fix it. If I'm not happy, send a letter to their complaints in Sheffield.

Terrible service as I've not had a phone in over a month.

Just a note to everyone - if you intend to buy a samsung, buy it from one of the shops and not the manufacturers. My friend had the exact same issue and took it into EE and he was given The iPhone 7 instead the next.

    Joke of a company.

I've had two bad experiences with Samsung, where they asked me to pay for a simple warranty repair.

Accidents happen no matter how you treat it.. that's what insurance is for.
I disagree with your comment but have to say mobile phone insurance is VERY poor. I have had two claims with lifestyle group through my bank, first one I lost (fell out of my pocket when sat down) with this one they sent me a new one (refurb) in about a week which wasn't great but not bad. Recently dropped my 6 plus which smashed (despite a case and screen protector) as it caught the glass on the side. This was a nightmare and took about 3 weeks before getting a refurb sent out which didn't work.. I know its fraud but if I break a phone again I'll be 'loosing it' immediately after.. A phone isn't a luxury item these days, its essential and a 3 week turn around just isn't good enough

They told me the exact same story today when i rang them "We are waiting on parts". Funny because prior to me sending it off to Samsung, i phones FOUR local Samsung authorized repair centres - NONE had the parts in stock, and they wouldnt let me book it in for repair! They told me i would have to go through the Samsung call center.

Complete joke of a company. My next phone will be an iPhone for definite!
