Leave a trail of crumbs behind you as you walk and you can simply follow them back when you need to return.

BEWARE: This doesn't work in Trafalgar Square or Nature Reserves.

Get a GPS. then when you get out of your car you mark that as the spot you want to get to

wot does gsp stand for ????????? lol :giggle:

I'm lousy with directions, too. I use a couple of tricks to keep track of things, both using landmarks of some kind.

The first is to rely strictly on landmarks. For example, I might pitch my tent next to a PA speaker tower in a music festival campsite. That way, all I need to do to find my tent is look for the PA tower. Easy.

If it's not possible to be right next to a landmark, I'll use two that relate to my position in imaginary X/Y coordinates. This is easier than it sounds. Imagine what's below as a bird's-eye view of the Sainsbury's carpark -

    _________[[[SAINSBURY'S]]]__________

    [KFC]

    x/y_________________________________

In that sort of a car-park, KFC is the vertical X axis, and Sainsbury's is the horizontal Y axis. Park car in-line with KFC, and all I need to do then is make a reference point against Sainsbury's, like maybe where the trolly collection starts. To get back, I just have to walk until I'm in-line with KFC, and then find my way to the car by walking until I'm in-line with the trolly collection, too. It's not the most efficient way of doing it, but it's a neat thing to fall back on if you can't make your way there directly.

Unfortunately, when it comes to large areas where there are no notable landmarks, I can't offer any tips. I've been known to walk around them for hours, wondering how in the name of God to get home. It's not fun

    God Save our Position :santa:

Simple solution take a male with you everywhere you go. Its a well known fact us males have a superior sense of direction to you females after all when did you last hear one of us say we got lost? Ok we may decide to erm take a different route as we wondered what was up that road or we wanted to avoid x, y or z! But WE NEVER GET LOST!! [SIZE=1](that we would be willing to admit too anyway! We just enjoy driving and taking a scenic route! :whistling: )

*now stands back and waits for torrents of abuse from females not realising this is said tongue in cheek*

set fire to it before walking away , follow the clouds of smoke and firemen to find out where you left it , simple

try parking in the same place everytime , if it really becomes a problem take a pic on your camera phone including a ground marker when you park it

i,m sorry, but if your sense of direction is really that bad, do you ....erm......think you should be driving at all!!:giggle: :w00t: :giggle:

    Don't go out,stay at home,like all women should. :whistling:

    Bring on the flak.:p

its more female related than age related.

Yeah, its cos you're a woman, all women have a useless sense of direction. The best way is when you get out of the car look for a marker and remember that marker to go back to it. (Like a lampost or a traffic sign, but it needs to be a specific one, and for god sake don't pick the car next to you as a marker.....it'll be your luck it'll drive away and you'll be running after it down the motorway!!)

Stick a big bright yellow cone or something really tall on the car so you can see it for miles around.

Leave the car at home and catch the bus. That way you'll always know where you left it.

dont think you can, ny hubby travels all round the country, and i can say not sure how he ever gets to one place, as he's hopeless, even been in car with him and going home to our house and he ends up following car in front! and completly going wrong way, lol
