I left frozen fish fingers and breaded chicken out since 10pm last night...

Will they be safe to eat for dinner. I've never been one to be particularly cautious but 18 hours seems a long time for fish and chicken. Because they were frozen i'm thinking they might be ok.

Nope wouldn't eat them if I were you, products like that should be cooked from frozen straightaway not left to defrost for that long then cooked

If the food still has ice crystals it is ok to eat. If not lob it in the bin

Yep, that's pretty much what happens when you do it a fish finger whole. Unless you have a well trained gag reflex X)

Yes they'll be fine to eat, just make sure you cook them thoroughly.
  26. k8y1988's avatar
If the temp you cook them at is high enough they will be fine to eat. But they might taste different, like if you have ever defrosted chips and cooked them, not as nice!

Since these are two of the highest risk foods (along with seafood, milk and cooked rice), exposing them for more than ONE hour of not being chiled below 5°C is DANGEROUS.

As summer overnight tempratures are more than 16°C , I would BIN ALL OF THEM, as the risk of food poisoning is too high. (edited)

I doubt they are still deciding on whether to eat them 8 years later. (edited)
