I love this hot weather but i hate...........

the way the media are sacremongering over it.

sending out health warnings for kids, elderly and animals.. its laughable. How do people in hot countries manage?
This morning i heard one reporter mention the word suffering when talking about the heat?
SUFFERING!! how the hell can we be suffering? Suffering is when your street and house is 6ft deep in water in the middle of july when its pouring with rain. Just because its a little bit hot doesnt mean we suffer!

Im sorry but our summers are so unperdictable we should embrace any heatwave that we have and im loving it.

Everytime you go on holidays does the government send you a warning about suffering? about how dangerous it is for kids, elderly and animals!

Honestly this country is beyond, talk about wrapping people up in cotton wool!

Get out and enjoy it because for 9 months and more of the year we have cold temperatures and mostly rain!

    SUMMER, SUMMER SUMMER TIME!!!OH YEAH!!

agreed, kill off the weak and old so us young and healthy people can enjoy this country more

I want my taxes to go on making this country better for me, not keeping people on their death beds alive for longer in suffering

its better than not doing anything at all then people moaning cause they should of warned us

Which is of course the reason a heatwave is dangerous.

With you on that on! It won't be long before scaremongering of cold snaps, flooding and pneaumonia (sp?)are starting. Enjoy the summer! If people are just sensible and look out for the old/young/vulnerable etc, there shouldn't be huge issues.

Schools out and theres a bit of a buzz...........................

    Bring on the sun

to be fair though the last serious heatwave we had 2000 deaths as a result.

Its for our own benefit, been a while since it was this hot.

yup a few days of "hot " weather and it goes nuts! By the weekend it will probably be raining again!

I mean if people cannot use their common sense when it comes to hot temperatures then maybe they shouldnt be on this planet!

Dont get me wrong I love the sun, but im not one for sitting in it all day as i get mega flustered but when i have had enough i go inside in the shade or under an umbrella with a cold drink!

Im pretty sure when i was in kent in 2003 when we had the hottest temperature ever recorded there were no warnings.

some people in this country are a bunch of pussys!

Well I just did the nursery drop off - and they have the sun tan lotions out ready for parents who have forgotten to use if they wish too.

It won't take long in this sun to burn , if you have fair skin.

    Wikipedia definition of heatwave

A heat wave is a prolonged period of excessively hot weather, which may be accompanied by high humidity. There is no universal definition of a heat wave; the term is relative to the usual weather in the area

using sun cream is no problem, that is common sense especially with kids, if people are stupid enough to sit for hours in the sun without cream then more fool them.

I dont need the government to tell me to be careful cause of the sun I am capable of making my own decisions.

bit harsh calling 30,000 dead people pussys.

i wasnt calling the dead people pussys, its the people who get worried about this heat wave. I mean you could get killed driving your car or walking on the pavement but people still do it.

    where are you lot?

i have got shorts on and feeling chilly, no heat wave for me.

There's no such thing as common sense. Knowledge is either learned or taught and you're certainly not born knowing that too much exposure to the sun will more than likely kill you.

Have you not had a good look around you? The world is full of stupid people. However, regardless of their stupidity they have a right to be properly informed for their own health. If you don't need to take it in, fine - ignore the information.

What do hot countries do? For starters they stay out of the midday sun, use shade wherever possible and wear light coloured clothes to keep the heat off. Again, this isn't common sense - it's learned knowledge and in the very same way we know how to dress when it's raining, they know how to deal with their most common weather conditions.

But don't you think that if 30,000 people died theres some justification to giving out warnings?

I love the hot weather...but it broke my phone yesterday and now I'm reduced to using a very outdated one. lol

See heatwaves are dangerous to phones too! ;-)

    can it be fixed?

in anwswer to the question what to people in hot countries do.....

their homes and buildings are in general designed to keep cool in hot weather whereas in the uk we are obsessed with heat and insulation because we are normally cold. this makes our houses uncomfortable in a 'heat wave'.

they also stay indoors out of the sun during the heat of the day - siesta - while we go and sit outside in it or even work during it and get burnt and hot.

on the people that cant take the heat, old people cant regulate their heat the same as younger people and inevitably overheat as the still have their coats and gloves on.

the only ones that really) cant help themslves are the very young as babies are known to suffer heat stress at temps more than 20'c. fine if they sit in a cool shady spot, but in the sun they can overheat and have no way of getting out of the heat or keeping cool.

And i for one hate this weather. heat and humidity (and pollen), I would prefer snow.

    tinkerbell28;5628659

    LOL, how?

When I went for a walk in the park...I think some sweat went in my phone from all the heat while using it for almost an hour.

I dunno...it's happened before as well, so I've been airing out the phone for the last 24 hours but every time I've attempted to turn it back on, it plays around with the texts, tries to make random calls and record songs....do you think it's screaming out "I want to keep be used to contact people?" :giggle:

    tinkerbell28;5628849

I should not of laughed, but I did loudly, sorry about your phone RFM X … I should not of laughed, but I did loudly, sorry about your phone RFM X :giggle:

Thanks for that...everyone always laughs at me. lol

At least I didn't break the outdated phone today...although I did hold it away from my ear....just incase.

If you thought that was funny, you should of seen how hard I laughed when a girl was staring at me for about 10 seconds as she was walking towards me today and just as she was approaching me and smiled, she buckled and I couldn't help but laugh out really loud. :giggle:

    I know I'm mean but I couldn't help it. :w00t:

    Spot on, repped.

Big increases in cases of skin cancer in this country, something the sufferers and the NHS could do without.

How did you work that one out...the only way that would be possible is if she was trying to fly over my head when she pretended to trip over. :giggle:
