If it's for work, I'll strongly recommend ]THIS

Might not be able to do something for Monday though.

TBH a bike is an investment in yourself so I would spend more. But if that is your budget then have a look at ]this.

It's an incentive scheme to get people cycling to work. You need to click on 'PARTNER SHOPS' at the top, find one near you, and then you can get up to 50% off.

Interest free payments over 12 months also. Good deal.

They had a good cheap one in TESCO, only front suspension though. My hubby wouldn't have one with dual suspension, doesn't like it. Dual is where there's springyness under the seat and the handlebars. Front is just the handlebars. My husband reckons you lose too much speed with the dual suspension. How true that is I don't know!

wouldn't he turn up to work really sweaty? :?

No dual suspension bikes are for riding down mountains not for the streets of Sheffield. At this price range don't worry about how many gears it has or the like, lighter the better as that is whats important as that is what you have to pedal about. You may want to replace the tyres with some thinner ones to reduce resistance.

]Here's the tesco one. We nearly bought it for hubby, as a new wheel for his was more than £50 - but then he found one in a skip... :whistling:

]This one's even cheaper... clubcard points too...

like i said said i know nothing bout bikes lol, i'm gonna go with the one you recommended as it as better reviews than the others and the female version has good reviews too, we'll bother about changing the tyres later lol the distance wont be so long cos when he went for his interview the whole journey took about 30 mins including walking and bus ride but the walking distance according to google is 1hr 17 mins :?...how did you know i was in sheffield :whistling:

now to search the web for discount vouchers :-D

have you got a big Asda or Tesco nearby - they often have good deals on bikes

transit well spotted pic - have some rep!

Your husband is right. TBH you dont really need any suspension to ride to work, all it does is;

1) cost more
2) weigh more
3) spring around and takes the power out of your pedals
4) cost more to fix

get a cheapy raleigh from halfords, but get someone with an idea about bikes to check it over once you've bought it. I used to work in a bike shop and we used to get loads of people who'd bough a bike from there and it wasn't very well built. Good luck!
