i need a diamond ring valued by institute of registered valuers

We have a gia certificate but the insurance needs the ring to be valued in case of a claim. I've been looking online and gave seen a lot of companies charge by a percentage of the value. I would rather have a fixed price. Does anybody have any recommendations please?

When i got my wifes ring valued the jewellers only charged 1% of the value.

h samuel charges a flat rate, they do send the ring off to be valued but you get an insurance pack back with it, or check you local as they sometimes have valuation days

I didn't want to send my engagement off in post so waited for Northern Goldsmith's next valuation date. Waited a couple of months but was safest option in my mind. Was also fixed price - think I paid about £60 though might have been a little more. Note that the valuation days get booked very quickly so you have to be in early to get a slot. I imagine most good quality jewellers will have such days.

we were thinking of using a place that did this but were worried as we didn't know the value. In the end it worked out cheaper for us as the rings were valued higher then we anticipated.
