    I stopped paying a pension 5 years ago, how easy is it to transfer this to another account and what are the options

    i have tried google searching but to no avail, basically i stopped paying into a pension 5 years ago and just realised that i need to start paying into 1 again, so i need any ideas please that you have.

    You can restart the one you've got. or start another one with someone else and transfer the funds from the old one into the new one.

    Its worth talking to an advise at a bank to see what options you have available...

    Hmmmm, i'd stronlg advise you not to use banks for financial advice, ever, even the ones that have independent advisers in (like Barclays - see This is Money website for problems exposed by ex-advisers at Barclays)

    If its just a personal pension there is no reason you cant use the same company and pay in there - if you transfer an adviser would take commission. There are capped charges on pensions anyway so no provider can charge more than another as a maximum so no major reason for moving your pensions around these days

    be wary of SIPP's though - really designed for experienced investors wanting to buy commercial property or direct share investments - advisers love the idea of them for normal pension people but there is really no advantage for the majority of us

    You need to speak to an IFA, get a recommendation from a friend etc.
