I THINK MY EARS ARE BROKEN

OK. on laptop today, can listen to music but if I play anything from you tube or any other video links.....no sound. Same on Facebook, no sound. Mute not on. Does not make sense.

Also my very old Nokia phone that I just keep for work calls, has now developed sound problems. If I make or answer a call, nobody can hear me but I can hear them, volume up full. Do speaker go belly up on mobiles.

I know that as I am over 50, the ears can breakdown but technology should last longer

Waranties are against my religion (if I had one)

Have you checked your flash install? It sounds like that's where the error is occurring.

Which model of Nokia is it? The 8210's from memory did have trouble with the mics, the 7110's active slide also caused issues with the mic pickup.

Many thanks as usual guys. Flash install.......how and where do I find this and what do I do with it when I find it, don't recall changing any settings lately, so why would this have changed :?

Re the very old Nokia slide phone, you are right it does seem to be the microphone. Just wanted to ched to check it was nothing simple before I consign it to a decent burial.

    Hate changing phones.

    Send the ears back.

How far am I off hearing aids...........more technology to go wrong :x

Depends on the laptop, but this is what I would do on mine -

Right click on the volume icon on your taskbar and click 'open volume mixer'
Check that no single application has the mute on, or volume down

It is possible (on most laptops) to mute certain applications while leaving other volume on, or have different volumes for different applications
