Since using it someone has told me I should not have.

Anyone know if it will do any harm, I am about 8 weeks pregnant.

I am in Rio right now, but logged in to ask if asking your GP was an option?

Hi babyblue, I think its only oils that can sometimes be harmful and it seems Lavender would have been ok to use in pregnancy anyway (maybe even reccomended by some)

If you are still concerned, especially due to you being so early on in your pregnancy, or want more info contact you're health visitor, or ring the doctor, better to be over cautious when you are carrying a precious bundle.

There are some oils that you should avoid during pregnancy a quick search brought up these sites with some info on what oils you can use

What is wrong with a pregnant lady being concerned???
There are plenty of things that pregnant ladies can and can't do. She is only worrying about her baby its only natural.

I cant see it doing any harm

It should be fine i think the only thing you cant do is eat certain food and to go near sheep x

Not unless you eat it. :-D

Many thanks for your time and help.

Those sites seem to say its safe.

I did read on a different site a minute ago that it can cause your body to relax and bring on early labour.

When I am pregnant I worry about everything!

Thanks again x

Car accident was March 2007 but still get pain in my neck from it. Thanks for your help x

I see the midwife on 31st July, ridiculous waiting time at the mo, I booked that appointment on 22nd June! I'll be around 10 weeks by the time I see her and I believe I need an 11 week scan, can't see that happening on time!

I worry too! Its only natural. Thing is it just gets worse when they are born doesn't it lol

Np, if you are still worried, just give your gp or health visitor a call, i'm sure they will be very understanding and it will put your mind at rest. Or even look up your yellow pages and ring an aromatherapist.

It is not unusual for you not to be seen much early on in pregnancy.

I'm currently pregnant at moment,I called GP surgery and they said we'll make you an appointment to be booked in and transferred over to community midwives at 8wks.
About 1 week later I had a call from midwife saying she wants to book me in,she came round to my house when I was 10 wks,she arranged a scan for 12wks,which the letter come in the post a couple days later.

I do know a bit about aromatherapy oils, infact not a lot of pregnant women know that your meant to avoid certain ones so good that you queried it. I would always say with this kind of thing is contact your midwife,if you don't have his/her mobile yet, then call up your nearest birthing unit/main maternity unit and they will advise.
Sometimes information on websites with this kind of thing can be very conflicting, specially on public forums.

It is suggested that you should avoid it during the first trimester but mainly as a precaution and should not ingest it while pregant or breastfeeding so you should be totally fine.

Of course it was.

Lavendar oil (not used as directed) has been known to cause early labour.

Therefore I was just asking if it would apply for a lavendar wheat pillow or if it would be safe.

I think it may only cause premature labour if you are in third trimester, i'm not sure though!
