It’s good, but I prefer this
I’d avoid acer. It’ll spend more time being repaired than actually being used. Try HP/ASUS/Lenovo or Dell.
Probably benefit from knowing age of student and/or any specific use expectation. Otherwise the suggested item is reasonable bang for buck, but will likely need an office suite installing (as would most consumer machines). A student may have entitlement to Microsoft academic software packages/licencing but many decent zero-cost open source office packages are available.
Good specs, good price, get it from eBay with the code. People have different opinions, not long ago lots suggested they will not get HP, now is the other way around. It does not even matter how old is the student or what the laptop is needed for, the specs are well above average and the price is very good.
To be honest, I would consider getting one at about half that price, so you still have the budget should it need replacing.
