Ideas for a romantic weekend this weekend (hotel)?

I live in London and am wanting to surprise my fiancée this weekend with a romantic weekend.

I will be leaving London on Friday evening, and want to stay for three nights.

Am after a 4 star hotel or more which would be self-sufficient...i.e. enough to keep her entertained (spa, and stuff).

Ideally within 4 hours drive from London.

Any suggestions would be grateful. Have looked at and expedia, but would prefer a personal recommendation if possible.

Am not too bothered about the cost - just want it to be memorable.

Depends how quick you can drive of course but the lake district is my favourite place on the planet, have a look at the link below i have stopped there a few times and its fit for a king

Just for reference one of my friends can drive it in a audi tt 225 bhp in a tad over 3 hours 30 mins

Lake District is beautiful, love it there but if you are looking for something a bit closer to London then you can't go wrong with any of the De Vere hotels, I have stayed in quite a few of them round the country and never been able to fault them. Paramount Majestic Hotel, Harrogate should fit the bill..easy travel M1/A1 to Wetherby then 7 miles on a A road to Harrogate.

2 nights DB&B offered at £329 for two....probably need to phone to ask if deal can be extended for 3rd night at same rate....quote offer code LB02073..another Paramont hotel I'd recommend is the Shrigley Hall just outside Macclesfield.

hi, you could try put in a town or area you want to go and pick through the best 4* 5* with spa's crabwall mannor near chester is nice stayed for 2 nights dbb for 2 people 99.00, or best western do nice hotels on a 2 night deal with spas etc.
