Ideas for xmas pressies for 10 year old son

Found 7th Oct 2008
I am stuck on what to get for DS, he has written a list of about 15 things and family and friends are going to get everything on it as nothing is too expensive however that leaves me wondering what to get. He already has Laptop, ps2, NDSL, LCD/DVD in his room. He is not into football or anything like that, I was thinking on getting him an xbox but then on the other hand i think he spends enough time on different computors without adding to it. Any ideas???

Forgot to say he already also has a really good bike.

dvds/cds?

How about promising him your time by allowing him to pick your next holliday destination. You can then buy accessories for that

mp3/mp4?

A fishing rod. That'll get him out of the house

My daughter's 10, she has a younger sister too, for Xmas they are getting … My daughter's 10, she has a younger sister too, for Xmas they are getting a Wii between them, may not sound much but by the time you buy all the games and bits and bobs it adds up. That'll be their main gift and the rest will be dvd's, books, sweeties, etc. I'm being very sensible this year and only buying stuff that i know will get used. Most of the things she got last year are sat on her bedroom shelves unused!

i know that feeling! was thinking a Wii but they have one at their grandparents and tbh its hardly ever played on now.

My daughter sounds like your son, she never really ask for anything too … My daughter sounds like your son, she never really ask for anything too expensive or for anything at all! She has however been asking for a hamster since May, so maybe.............(at least they only last a couple of years, if she gets bored lol x):-D

remember a hamster's not just for christmas, it's for boxing day too if you slice it thin enough. (sorry couldn't help myself:oops:)

My 2 would love a kitten but with 2 english bull terriers that think cats are for dinner they wont be getting one any time soon.

My ten year old has a PS2 and this year he is getting a xbox 360, another idea is to buy him a portable DVD player for the car, we bought one a few years ago and its really well used. It is getting more difficult to buy for them as they get older. He has also asked for a mobile phone, as all his friends have them already. But I am trying to hold out till his birthday to buy that, or I will have no idea what to buy!

It's hard buying them stuff that's not electrical isn't it?:?

Yes, definitely. I think I should factor in the price of electricty and knock that off their Christmas budget!

my lad is 11 i have got him the wii fit to share with his brother as a main present, and guita hero for the ds, and i was thinking of getting him a portable dvd as someone else suggested or an ipod, again all electrical apart from sportswear etc, thats kids for ya

But why?

I have a son that is 9 turning 10 in January and he would be happy to get clothes, slippers and any non electrical goods for christmas or his birthday. I think that consumer gets it easy when deciding prezzies for christmas from the range of handhelds and consoles on the market. I'd suggest a musical instrument with some added lessons.

depends if there is a shop opened on Christmas day selling them. How many times I have been caught with that. But Seriousily kids need different things in their lives not just consoles and handhelds.

how about a day trip or annual passes for some where? merlin pass for the theme parks or local zoo or something, then you have a present that will last all year round and all the family can enjoy

or magazine subsriptions, then they get a magazine delivered each week or month ??
