Ideas Needed For Mum's 60th Please!!

Found 7th Feb 2010
So my mum is coming up for 60 and us kids thought we could all put together and get her something nice but we are finding it pretty hard so any great ideas out there??

She has had red letter day type things, we got her a balloon flight for her 50th, she goes away most weekends in the caravan and has tons of photo's of us all so something different please.

why not throw a themed party? On my mums 60th we did a 1920's art deco style party and I did a wall photo presentation of tons of photos of all the family which I had people send, email or give to me to scan. This played all night scrolling the photos in the corner and went down well? I even added funny comments to some of them

it sounds like she does a lot for her family, why not repay her with a weekend spa with luxury treats thrown in?

Where for though? She has some high street store ones that she still cant find anything to spend it on.

I know it sounds like im being awkward but she kinda buys what she wants when she wants it. We need to think of something different - there are 5 of us putting money in.

Well I am almost 60 and I adore my ipod shuffle. I have a mini laptop just for taking abroad (so that I can listen to British radio or watch something from the iplayer). I would also love to have an iphone!!

How about a stair lift?

Have thought of that - wonder if she'll take me lol

Not sure if her partner would want to go with her though. Suppose she could take a friend xx

Nice one

Get her a nice piece of jewellery; we did this for my mum's 50th and between the three of us managed to get something really nice. Goldsmiths have a good ebay shop where you can basically buy their sale stock; they also have good offers instore sometimes and the quality is ok in there for a high street jeweller I think. If you all put your funds together you should be able to find something good, and then she can keep it forever as well.

We have considered this and have been thinking about whether we can all get together to do it as we live all over the place. Its a contender.

Personalised number plate?
OR................something completely different! ......Sign her up for an allotment. A great hobby, and you can all muck in - no pun intended - with the digging:thumbsup:

I have just bought West End theatre tickets and hotel for my Mums 70th. We live quite a way from London so its something she would never treat herself to and my Dad gets to go too-so a treat for them both!
