Nothing like planning ahead, oh wait, tomorrow you say

do something which costs little? like a load of balloons or similar..she will get enough toys. Put her the money you would have spent in a savings bank for her. She will want more every year-while she is small and doesnt know keep it simple?
However my daughters at that age loved little prams and a doll or teddy to push.

My 11 month old loves the remote control, so i'll be getting him his own one for his 1st! He's already got his own ps3 controller!! Happy bday to your little one!

Thanks, Yes think thats the best thing to do, shes got a Baby & Pushchair off her Auntie as a prezzie, she's already got a savers account which i put into every month, just thought because people from her party had given her the money weither it was fair to put it in her bank? incase they ask what was brought with the money...x

Its so disappointing that you have come onto a forum to ask for help, and when someone offers it you fly of the handle with unwarranted, potty mouthed, needless insults...

If the child doesn't need anything, then I would put it into their savings account.

Hope the child has a lovely day tomorrow

    Scout

Take alook at this, we bought the green version for our son when he was 1 and he still plays with it now ( was 3 at the weekend ), the other scout products like the laptop, scribble pad, scout phone we have also bought him and they are great educational toys.
There was a news story not long ago about this toy where someone was claiming that it said a swear word and we listened to the song our scout plays and it doesn't swear at all it's just being missheard and someone had 5 mins of fame for getting it into the paper.

But yeah a great educational toy.

OK, I've tidied this thread - can we keep it on topic please and free of personal remarks / insults etc.

Why not get her a Trunki? Always handy - the Gruffalo one is a reasonable price at Amazon atm but plenty more there too.

i agree, would be a nice time to start a ISA account for the child. And top it up every year till they turn 18.

imo kids at that age respond to colour best , so just get your old disco gear out dangle it in front and she will be happy. Spending too/almost any amounts at that age on toys is only to make the parents feel better.
Having said that I did spend a little here and there just for the sake of it

How about some toys for the garden if you have one? they change a lot between one and two years old in what they can do and what they like, so you could put the money in a account there is bound to be something she "must have" lol in a few months time. Both of my kids have their birthdays with in 6 weeks of christmas so i put some money by for things they might like mid year.

elc have some nice new toys that have just come outt theres some nice outdoor toys for the summer

my niece had a fisher price bounce and spin zebra for her first christmas, she loved that more than any other toy she's had so far
