If Apple replaces my macbook pro, will I get the current model, old model or a refurb?

Does anyone know if Apple replace my macbook pro if they give will me the new model or the old model or a refurb?
The computer has been sent back twice and is now, after a week from the last service, having the same problem again so I expect/hope they will replace it as they obviously can't fix the issue and it's getting very frustrating!
The new model would be a lovely bonus.
The one I have is a 2010 model and less than a year old.

If they decide on replacing, then would expect a model of equal value. The value of course is when you purchased it, so obviously quite a bit more than it is now.
A friend had the same scenario, and they gave her the newer model, plus a free copy of a game she was after valued @ £40 at the time.

That would be good, it's just nice to know what I can push for/expect when talking to them.
I can't take it to an Apple store, so I will have to deal with the telephone people, did your friend get her replacement in store or over the phone?
How come your friend got an extra game? I don't expect to get one, just being nosey lol.

Its a goodwill gesture, while my sony ericsson was being repaired it got lost and took months to get mine back. They sent me some cases, straps and dangling characters for my phone as a way of saying sorry.

3 times on the same fault I would expect the same, its just to keep you sweet, if they give you good service there is more chance you'll stay loyal

Oh, goodie, that's useful to know she got it over the phone. I'll have to call them tomorrow, fingers crossed I get a brand spanking new one, that would keep me happy

They need to fix my phone for a third time as well, I might do some moaning about that and see if I can get a free case or something.

Personally I would expect them to replace it with the same model you have now, they will still have some stocks of it. That is if they replace it for you, sometimes they like to keep repairing the item!

Usually on the 3rd repair it's a replacement. Just be nice, ask them if they can replace it with the new one as a gesture of good will but don't shout and stomp and stuff, it gets you nowhere.

Apple are generally really good with this kind of stuff if you're actually decent about it. Ask them if there's anything they can do, and they normally will offer you the latest one but don't be too gutted if you get the 2010 as it's still a fantastic machine (when it works!)
