well, generally cats dont need a bath. true they look like gremlins here, that's just because any furry animal would look like that when wet. my cat gets one quick shower say every quarter during the winter cold months and then in the summer maybe once a month or two. it's mainly to keep her cool, and some cats do moat more than others so it helps them along. she cleans herself several times a day and hardly smells - i once had to house-sit a dog before and boy, do they smell ... and if you train kittens from young ie introduce them to brief showers they'll get used to it. my cat just growls a little when you wrap her in her towel and pat off excess water, but she does that coz she knows she's getting a treat soon after. just make sure you dont expose them to cold / pneumonia. in any case she just licks them all off, makes the fur fluffier and natural oils come out.

If I tried to bath my cat i'd end up in A&E  Even the vet can't get his mouth open to check his teeth, literally a 3 man job!

I don't feel anything at all looking at these photos.

    Hehehe! They are sooo funny!

But why are they even bathing cats?! Should I be bathing my cats?!?

Same with one of my cats, can't get a worming tablet near him, have to get nurses at the vets to hold him down and do it!
These pictures make me laugh, I remember running a bath for myself a few years ago, 2 of my cats were only very young and curious and decided to check ou the bath - and both fell in. Needless to say both of them looked totally peed off and wouldn't come near me for ages!

Not sure, I've read articles that say you should and others that say it's not good for them. I suppose running some warm water on them wouldn't hurt, but shampooing them might be where the debated lies...

do they smell or have mites? that's a good indication lol.

We use to give our two long haired persians a quick bath and shampoo about once a year when they were younger but we don't bother now because they absolutely hated it. It was a two person job and both people would be covered in scratches and bite marks afterwards. The cats would also be really moody for days afterwards!

As well as the persians we now have three British Shorthaired cats who are all fasinated with water (they love to walk around the side of the bath when it is full or someone is in it, they have all fallen in at least once!) but we are not going to bother to bathe them as they keep themselves clean as they are indoor cats.

They is probably another cat, that has been bathed looking through the window. Your cat is merely taunting it.

Cats are disturbing anyway....I enjoyed the photos, possibly 'cos I am a dog person.

Well I'm a cat person and the poor things look like they're being tortured!

    :x :x

The only time my sister's cat uses the bath is when it's going for a random pee .... that's gratitude for ya!

As one who is allergic to cats, I say well done all you cat-bathers.
The nooo one at the end is hysterical.

I love them even more now! :-D

I have 3 cats and would i attempt to bath any of them? Not on your nelly,I value my life too much!
2 of mine also do the walk around the bath when I'm in it,I keep on hoping one will fall in one day, just for the laugh, though I would end up lacerated trying to get the beggar out!
One drinks from the bowl, one drinks from the rain puddles outside and one sits in the sink lapping from a dripping tap.......wierd creatures, warped, fascinating and I love 'em!:-D
