    Actually reading up on this i am not exactly sure if it it is 100% legal but im still listening though,

    how does this make its money and pay artists? no ads or anything

    As for legality, it seems the thing itself is about promoting unsigned acts, and smaller record labels. Apparently (and I'm going on wiki here, so make your own judgement on that)... NONE of the major record labels have signed up, and therefore most of the stuff worth listening to is illegally uploaded.
