Got to get things in proportion. Everyone will terminate at some point. But IF it is possible to prevent diabeties then this is just another good reason to take preventative steps.

What preventative steps do you take for something unpreventable?

I have highlighted something that I saw on a news report. I believe that many people may have missed the report and may be interested.
With reference to "What do I know" - only this...........
With any medical condtion that you have its a good idea to find out as much as possible about it. This will give you the best chance of dealing with it or its affects.
There are some people who believe that their may be dietary factors implicated in MANY diseases. I feel that there will be, hopefully soon, medical advances in relation to many conditions that so many suffer at present.

My grandma, mum and dad have it, My sister in law had it from 6 yrs, My past grandma also had it, but she died of heart disease,
There is a big chance me and my sister plus my kids will end up with Diabetes at some point in our life

I understand what you are saying and I guess that there is some relevance to maybe not knowing anything if it is likely to cause concern. But my attitude is that what has changed anyway? Who do you know that has lived forever.
So now there is some degree of proportion and you become aware of issues that may put you at greater risk you can at least take steps or have additional health checks to alleiviate some of the known risks.
My intention was not to frighten anyone. Greater knowledge leads to a better chance of more effective controls.

I will have a read through it, as I wouldnt have a clue on how to reduce my chances of getting it, If giving up choc is 1 thing then thats a no go lol
Didnt scare me, I am nieve and dont see it as a mega threat, but maybe I should, All my side of family is diet controled, maybe tablet controlled max. My sister in law is controlled through insulin

Type II diabetes which is by far the most common type is not 'unpreventable' as the risk can be substantially reduced through a healthy lifestyle as a large proportion of those diagnose with type II diabetes have a poor diet, obese and/or lacking regular. exercise. The recommended preventative steps therefore are simply to maintain a healthy weight, exercise regularly and keep a healthy diet.
