Google streetview might give you the info you need

Loadsa parking on Ilford Lane itself as they've just recently widened the 'The Lane' as it's called. U can also find lots of parking in the streets off 'The Lane' (I think its abt £1 per hour).

Ps. Look for the sign just as enter Ilford Lane its says "There's only one Ilford Lane" LOL!

btw. where r u coming from that u've never been down the 'The Lane' I thought everyone had been there!!!!!

Thanks for the replies. Thanks DLM for the car parks in ilford. Theres one car park that is about 15mins walk away that is charging £1 an hour so I will be better off parking on ilford lane instead as the charge is the same there.

I live in East London but the only asian area I go to is Green Street. Now the Mrs has heard of Ilford Lane and is demanding I take her there. Are there many other asian shopping areas in london except Green Street, Ilford Lane and Southall?

    ....not really!
The only other place is East Ham (High St. North), but I'm sure once yr Mrs 'discovers' The Lane she'll realise it ain't all that!
Don't forget to go to 'The Exchange' - its no Lakeside or Bluewater but its a decent enuff shopping centre with all the major big stores there. There's also a shopping centre outside The Exchange which used to be Ilford High Rd. It's all been pedestrianised now & there r plenty of shops there as well!

i like ilford lane. compact and not as mad as green street!
