I'm going to London 15th-18th March

    Hi folks,

I'm off to London for a few days next weekend, and wondered what is the most important things I should do/see when I'm there! It's the first time i've been on Holiday, but been several times on 'business'. I like the theatre, and culture/art things. I've booked a couple of tickets to see Avenue Q on the Saturday night also.
P.S Charlie and Co, I have my Guard dog on full alert at home, so no burglary attempts ;o)

Wasn't too sure on the London Eye...anyone been on? Worth the money?

London Aquarium is well worth a visit.

Try and time it so that you are there during feeding time. Worth the admission fee on its own.

nice one, will check that out!

What's africa africa on at the o2 arena like?

see that got free tickets from here actually

It was great i enjoyed every minute not sure of the price of the tickets but if under £20 its worth a look

I did the eye for my girlfriends birthday. Really enjoyed it but essentially it is just a view, depends on what you like! Otherwise there is a shop that makes the nicest cookies in the arcade in the centre of Covent Garden. I go there every time I'm in London, me and the g/f are addicted! Cant remember the name though (you'll find it because there aren't any others!)

I went on the eye - it was good to see London from on high, but the queing was chaotic to say the least!

Apparently pre-booking timeslots doesn't give you a timeslot!?! I was told when I went to pick up my pre-ordered ticket that I could go on the Eye any time that day.

There were two queues, but it wasn't made clear which one we were supposed to be in - when we had queued for a while & were near the front we were told that we were in the wrong queue! So we had to start all over again.

Still, worth it for the views.

You might want to buy the London Pass then mate, as that gives you unlimited access to all the tourist attractions in London including London Acquirium, Tower of London, boat rides down the thames etc

Checkout londonpass.com/ind…asp to see all the attractions on offer and if you want to check it out for more than 1 day at a time, it works out dirt cheap to buy a ticket for the remainder of your journey but see what's available and I also highly recommend an oyster card.

If you're going with kids, then I recommend buying the tickets from buyagift which works out £99 for 2 adults and 2 kids but they also have a £20 discount by using the 20% voucher plus 12% quidco too.

I also have a secret spot that I love to take the ladies to, which offers a view throughout the whole of london and I would highly recommend checking it out during the late evening when all the lights are sparkling, which looks magnificent to say the least.

    Hope that helps.

Petticoat Lane (Sunday Morning. Beware bag snatchers and pickpockets)

    Speakers Corner (Sunday morning)

    Carnaby Street.

    Harrods

Millennium Bridge Walk The first pedestrian crossing over the Thames for more than a century, the Millennium Bridge links the City of London at St.Paul's Cathedral with the Tate Modern Gallery at Bankside

Hyde Park and The Serpentine on a Sunday if the weather is good. People watching !

    covent garden and china town.

If you go to Covent Garden make sure you have pint in The Round House, brilliant place to sit and watch the world go by.

Which one is the Round House? Feel like I've been missing out!

I've seen both Monty Python's Spamalot and We Will Rock You in the west end and they were both great. If you like either Monty Python or Queen then I'd recommend them. Hehe.

I actually thought london eye was rubbish ! but thats me. There are some decent views bu its not worth it in my eyes. Go to baker street etc and do some designer clothing shopping :P. London dungeons is pretty good from what ive heard also the museums.

I'd skip that if I were you. The galleries/museums already mentioned are enough to keep you entertained. My personal favourites are the Natural History Museum and the British Musem.
