In search of a wireless ADSL Router

Ive held off going wireless until now but have finally decided to take the plunge - one small prob ... I have no idea what to look for!

My current internet connection is ADSL Max (up to 8mb) and router a Netgear DG834. I basically want to feed my desktop and a laptop (which i believe already has a wireless card - its a XPS1530). My desktop on the other hand doesnt so I suspect a USB adapter will be required?

Any recommendations for solid ADSL routers that will fit the bill ? Preferably black or silver Also, to add to the confusion Ive seen G, G+, N etc... I assume thats the strength of the signal?

Many thanks in advance for your time

Thanks Vortal but I was actually looking for recommendations

I recommend you buy my Homehub

DRAYTEK 2820N or 2820VN
Excellent and v.fast

Have a Buffalo air station 54g access point. Nice n small. Plug into existing router and your away. Willing to sell.

For the desktop have a buffalo Ethernet bridge , same design as access point.
Will plug into PS3 , HD DVD or anything with Ethernet.
Also acts as a wireless repeater in WDS mode for extended range.

I use a Netgear DG834G v2 . Had it on nonstop ( apart from holidays) for 2.5 years. If you are on a cable connection for your broadband eg Virgin etc. , you will need a different kind of router .

You dont really need a card for your desktop ( unless you want to use someone else's wireless connection ) .
Other laptops / desktops in your house will need a wireless card to connect to your new router.
Most modern laptops have a wi fi card .
Once you have it set up, as long as your router is on , other laptops can still connect to the internet even
if your desktop is switched off . Very handy.

Sorry if I am telling you things you already know

I have a buffalo brill it is , got it from scan and only £20

If you like you current router then the DG834G is the wireless version of it.
