Depends - how good do people you know think it is?

If they think it's pretty good then yes it is.

If they think it's a bit meh, then it's better.

If they think it's the best film ever, then no it isn't.

most are saying it's def worth a watch!

It looks like out-takes from shutter island or the other way round depending on which one you see first

It definitely is. Especially considering you seem to have some interest in seeing it.

dont waste your life. its terribly confusing, the ending is crap

It's a good film, but I don't think its as clever / confusing as it's made out to be.
I've only watched it once, and think its probably worth a second watch to see if I missed anything first time round.

It's not that confusing.

It looks amazing and the story is interesting if a little convoluted.

One of the best films of last year by far. Did you like the Matrix? If so, I am sure you will enjoy Inception.

Yeh, especially when the little boy dies then miraculously comes back to life right at the end... too far fetched IMO

Its good, I liked it a bit better than Shutter Island. I know a few people who didn't like Inception but I think they were expecting more than what it was.

yeah matrix was good, thanks.

Spoiler:

Why does Cobb have that spinning top? (I know why he has it supposedly), but why would an architect of a dream make a spinning top that kept on spinning forever? Doesn't make sense. They're supposed to create a dream that's realistic, so the dreamer doesn't realise he's dreaming. Therefore an architect would create a spinning top that fell, only an idiot would make one that never fell. So why does Cobb use that? It's a completely flawed way of telling if he's dreaming or not!

fantastic concept, loved it. The film was good with a good story line, and a little "was it, wasnt it" at the end. I personally liked the film.

brilliant film

agreed, its not confusing at all, the only confusing bit is at the end when.....and even that wasnt confusing, more of a talking point..... i wont spoil it for the OP.

yeah its a really good film op, dont read below though

SPOILER:

the ending isnt that confusing, in my opinion the spinning top looks like it is slightly wobbling and will eventually fall...meaning that he is no longer dreaming, but they obviously made it look like it could be taken in both ways i.e. that the spinning top is not going to stop.
thats my idea on it anyway.

It's a very good film. Definitely should be seen.

It's not that confusing though, I watched it relatively recently and was waiting for something to happen which confused everything. It didn't though.

I agree with numpty, it was 'clever' rather than confusing

Spoiler:

Why the hell would it keep spinning in a dream anyway, you'd have to be a carp architect to make something so unrealistic when you're trying to make something realistic!

Very good film, if your easily confused don't watch it. If you like films with a bit more depth then usual then its for you.

SPOILER *********************************************
I took it that it was beyond the capabilities of people to realistically imagine how it would fall properly. So it just kept spinning.

spoiler?

it doesnt matter if the spinning top stops or not, what is important is that he accepted that reality as the one he wants to be in, with his kids.

i think by the end of the day OP will have no need to watch the fim as he would have all the info he needs.....

I've watched it a few times I thought it was a good film

when i saw it the first time i didn't like it, thought shutter island was better.

I've seen inception 2 more times since then, and i would definitely watch it again.

Someone can dream up a whole world, yet not dream how a spinning top falls?? I don't buy it!!

Wasn't that the whole point? As I said earlier, I've only watched it once, but I thought the idea was to have something unique that was UNrealistic so that you could test whether or not you were in a dream? therefore, having a spinning top that never stopped confirmed to him that he was dreaming? Think I'll have to watch it again tonight

His unique thing is realistic, it falls over in real life as it should. He believes that if he's dreaming a dream that an architect has created then the top will never stop spinning, why on earth an architect would make it that way is beyond me, it's exactly the opposite of what they are trying to do.

It's the sort of film you can watch a few times and see different things in it each time - excellent

Yes, that's seems to ring a bell... In that case, you're right.

It's not that specific though, iirc the places aren't 'real' places just what the architect has 'guessed', the people then come from the dreamers subconcsious, i.e it's not actively thought about.

I see what you're getting at though. That's why it's a good film, it generates debate

No, they aren't guesses either, they are completely made up, supposed to not even resemble real places. Cobb's idea is that he can tell that he's in a dream because the architect wouldn't know the exact way his top would spin and fall, so they'd make it spin forever. Which is ridiculous, you wouldn't make something look real by making it do the very thing that it could never do on earth!
