    Indoor Freeview Ariel

    Banned
I just bought a freeview box and wondered if any one had any tips on which ariel to buy? I have a pretty decent reception on terrestrial without a fancy ariel if that is of any help. I dont really want to spend a fortune neither.

Thanks for your help guys :pirate:

Unless you live pretty much on top of the local transmitter I wouldnt go for an internal ariel. Freeview isnt very forgiving of a weak signal whereas analogue is.
Try and borrow one from a mate first to see how it goes for you before buying as you may well be dissapointed unless you meet the criteria in my opening lines.

    Good luck ;-)

I have a Freecom DVB-T USB Stick, and I stick the ariel on the outside of the kitchen window. Works s treat.

The Amplified Indoor Ariel (£19.99) from Tesco works well for me.

I use this one..but I do live in a strong signal area so get good reception from a coat hanger!!!

Cheers for the suggestions. I borrowed my mates indoor aerial and it picked up the majority of channels (his was £25). This one on argos looks a bit flimsey but says it is specifically designed for freeview -

I am tempted to give it a go. I live in the loft of the house so the signal is fairly decent I would say. Is an amplified aerial the better choice?

This just looks like a longer version of the ariel that is supplied with many of the USB freeview kits...I have a freecom version that works very well with the supplied ariel so maybe this argos one will fit the bill.

At least with argos you can always return it for a full refund if it is naff.

Must be great to be able to get freeview

    I'm not bitter
