Info about a Wiikey Modchip or similar? Can you advise?

Hi guys - anyone know the best way to go on this? All I know is that the wii has a d2b chip (not even sure if that's relevant).

I obviously can't do this myself, so what are the options and how much should it cost? And can you recommend someone?

Btw, we are talking about a Japanese wii console that I'd like to be able to play UK games on.

    Thanks for any help

with a d2b, you can take your pick of the chips available, the d2c is the one to worry about.

i personally prefer the wiikey, but i know other people will argue that there are others that are better like the latest Wiinja chips.

As for getting it installed, it may be cheaper to buy the chip and then find someone to fit it. Its not too tricky with a little bit of soldering skill so the person to do it doesn't necessarily have to be a chip fitter. Chip cost is normally around the £15-£20 mark and then fitting can be anything from £25 to £50 depending on who does it.

Thanks for that fubarphill - rep added  Good to know the d2c chip is safe for this. I'll wait to see if I can find more info, including someone reliable to fit the chip. Hmmm...might end up being a tad expensive though. Will it be worth the expense in your opinion?

well that depends, it would certainly make it easier to get hold of games rather than having to get import games every time you want one.

In my opinion, it would definately be worth it. Where abouts in the UK are you?
