Infraction

Because I bumped my thread too many times- Just want to sell it and I know there are HUKDealers out there that don't look everyday. Ridiculous!?

They may be ridiculous to you - but there are rules in place and they are there for a reason.

You don't follow them, and received the consequences.

I see nothing ridiculous.

Just want to sell it

So do all of the other people in FS/FT, but if we had people bumping threads all over the place that part of the forum would be come worthless.

What is an infraction?

Basically if you do something against the rules, you receive an infraction "point".

These points add up to what can make suspensions / bans over the period of time the infraction point(s) stand for.

Ok thank you very much for explaining
Better make sure i follow the rules then :giggle:

who cares infractions come and go get over it

I got one for putting p*** and s*** in a joke although I posted the same joke 2 months ago without receiving one!

Just goes to show that people never read the FS/FT rules.

here here, I've seen people get infractions and bans for doing the same things as others who get off scot-free. I've even seen a mod wrongly suspend someone over a pandoras battery for a psp - which wasn't actually illegal!

it's all about luck methinks, depends on which(if any) mod is 'looking' at the relevant thread.

An Infraction in legal sense (minor offense, minor violation, petty offense, or frequently citation, sometimes used as synonymous with violation, regulatory offense, welfare offense, or contravention) is a "petty" violation of the law less serious than a misdemeanor.
wiki Infraction :w00t:
Typically, an infraction is a violation of a rule or local ordinance or regulation.
Some refer to an infraction as quasi-criminal, because conviction for an infraction is generally not associated with the loss of liberty, or even social stigma. Infractions are often considered civil cases, in which case an infraction is not even considered a crime. Nonetheless, most infractions are indeed violations of statutory law, but in differing with criminal law where the burden of proof is Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, the standard for the civil infraction is a Preponderance of Evidence.
Infraction is a term in United States law; it is not a term commonly used in the United Kingdom or other countries following English common law.

I got an infraction for bumping but I never complained.

I think the two bumps per thread is actually pretty good, I get sick of reading other FS/FT forums and you just see a page of 'Bump, Bump, Bump etc.'

rules are there to keep up in line, if you break em, suffer the consequence. If we all went round breaking the rules there would be anarky :w00t:

Yeah obviously I know rules are there to keep everyone in check. But I mean, I think something like a warning would do the trick. An 'infraction' is a bit silly me thinks. Also - I can have a rant if I want to so I don't see why people posting stuff like 'get over it' or even trying to spam my thread. Whats that about? Soon enough I see myself just going back to just looking out for deals and not posting anything.

Technically, that's what the infraction is, just a warning. If it was anything more than a warning, you'd probably have been suspended or something similar, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. You'd be surprised the amount of people on here with infractions on their accounts ;-)
