    Insignia warning light

Hi Guys advice needed please. I have a 09 plate insignia diesel. I was driving to work this morning and the car lost acceleration/ power and a orange warning light illuminated on the dashboard. It's a car with a spanner on it.
I've googled it and it's says it's a service warning light but would this cause it to lose power? The car now won't go above 25mph and is guzzling diesel

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help

Have a look here, seems they had the same issue.

Or it could simply be the dpf filter needs cleaning and the ecu reset, sounds like your car is in "limp mode", happened constantly to mine till they updated the ecu. A warning light is supposed to come on when the dpf is full and advise you to keep driving, mine didn't before the ecu update. The car is designed to go into limp mode if the dpf fails to get cleaned.

Thank you everyone for your answers. Very much appreciated

It'll be in limp mode as suggested, You need it hooked up to a diagnostics machine to get the error code.

Unless their is something obvious like a loose pipe or cable etc..
