Is there a way of installing google play store on a 2nd gen kindle fire without rooting? Either way has anybody done it recently and have a link?
Thanks.

Search on modaco.Com pretty sure there is an article on getting it on.

No root required just some patience, a few apks and changing some settings.

here is the link i was speaking of.

http://www.modaco.com/news/android/enable-the-google-play-store-on-your-fire-7-2015-plus-auto-brightness-r1558/

now im not 100% sure its the model you need, but enabling google play is jsut installing some apks after enabling usb debugging and unknown sources so i shouldnt think it would brick or do anything mental, it just wouldnt work.

hope it helps and you get sorted.

Kram, did you ever figure this out? I too have a Kindle fire 2nd gen and am struggling with trying to figure out how to do this. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

TBH I can't remember if I did it or not, think I gave up and bought a later model and installed it on there no problem. Sorry to be vague about it but am at work at.
