The facepalm has never been more appropriate than here. You do realise by having no encryption you are liable for anything your connection is used fore, be it fraud, child porn or whatever.

Talktalk do that to me as well but I assume it's because I download quite a lot & am probably near or over my limit. They say that they 'manage' your allowance if you use it a lot.

if you want to make it secure find your router details ie model etc and i can help you through it if you like?

    cheers

well apparently your ip address for that is 192.168.1.1 if you type that in your address bar online thats the bit at the top you shold then be asked for a username and password witch by default is admin for both username and password (hopefully)
you should then be taken to you're routers homepage theres lots of tabs in there your looking i think for this WLAN should be on the left under the basic's tab. in there you can change you're wireless key dont change anything else just the key make a note of it then log out or exit then try to reconnect you're laptop should ask you for a key put you're new key in happy days.

You are responsible for everything your connection is used for, try explaining that someone else used your connection to download Dental Nurses, Hairy Purses 4

    "Liable" has now become "responsible".

You're getting closer to being correct.
