Intel HM55 vs Intel NM10 chipset

In layman's terms whats the difference.. for a basic laptop to surf the net and work on MS Office and simple games, does it make any difference?

A quick look on the internet indicates the NM10 chipset is for "netbooks" that use the Atom (low powered) CPU.

HM55 is a laptop "mainstream" chipset (as opposed to a Performance or Value chipset - ie mid value).

My guess is for a normal laptop (not netbook) the HM55 would be better.
