International SIM (especially good for roaming data)

    Morning,
I'm looking for a SIM to take away with me when I go abroad, mostly Europe, as O2 are a rip off (£40 for 50mb of data!). I don't need a huge data limit as I won't be hammering it constantly whilst I'm away, but I'd like to be able to receive/send calls/texts/emails, check Facebook, upload a couple of photos etc - so a few hundred mb of data for a week is probably required and without a monthly fee (PAYG).

I'll be using it in an iPhone 4 but can easily cut down a normal SIM to make it fit.

I've found a few online but I've no idea if they are good deals or not and to be honest I end up getting confused lol.

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    Sy

    Hi,

If you want 'a few hundred mb of data for a week' then any UK or roaming solution will be too expensive. But if you really want a UK option then T-Mobile seem to be best (site's being updated so I can't confirm rates just now).

Otherwise it's a local SIM which are usually easy to get in touristy places or wifi in hotels and bars.

    wifi all the way

    Hiya,
It doesn't have to be a UK SIM, any will do and it will only be in use whilst abroad as I have a contract whilst in the UK. Someone recommended Maxroam but their options ended up giving me a headache lol. My boss said that Voda do a £2 a day for 25mb, which would be more than enough, so that's an option. But I'll check out T-Mobile too, cheers.

Wifi for the majority of the time isn't an option, the majority of my trips are snowboarding in Europe and so far I've found few hotels/bars that have working wifi (even though they claim too) or those that do are so hammered you can't even pull an email down. Plus there's nowt like sending a picture from the top of a mountain to annoy everyone back home stuck in work ;).
