Thank you for your interest in the above position. Please answer the following questions.

What is your understanding of independant living?

What is your understanding of the person centred approach?

What 3 qualities would you bring to the job?

I don't know much about PAs but I suspect that this is not just a question of your personal understanding of those phrases - I think they are buzz phrazes which you are expected to know about - e.g. en.wikipedia.org/wik…ing

What qualities do you think you have? Good organisational skills might be a good start for a PA.

thanks for your help my mind is just in overdrive at the moment!

is this in a counselling environment?

A person centred approach (PCA) is more than just service user involvement. It is a way of supporting and working with people that affects the whole culture of a service, and everything it does, by putting the client at the centre of the care they receive. By providing a framework, PCA enables individuals to plan and set direction for their life.

Independent living, as seen by its advocates, is a philosophy, a way of looking at disability and society, and a worldwide movement of people with disabilities who proclaim to work for self-determination, self-respect and equal opportunities. In the context of eldercare, independent living is seen as a step in the continuum of care, with assisted living being the next step.

To be honest, i you need to ask the misc community on how to answer these questions then you do not deserve the job.

Independent living-ability to manage without support, ie, pay bills, do shopping, manage tenancy by paying rent on time

Person/service user centred approach is putting the service user/person at the front of any issues and providing support around their needs-usually conduct a needs assessment with service user to identify their skills and what they require support on. Develop a support plan with the user to identify any issues and how you can work together to resolve them but also how to provide and empower the service user with skills to resolve issues in the future without support

    Good luck with the interview

take your negativity elsewhere lots of ppl on here ask for advice does not mean they dont deserve or merit what they are looking for i was asking more for the wording as i am not great at putting it in words i am more used to interviews face to face!
