IP camera set up - recommendations please.

I will be going away for roughly 3 months and I would like to install some indoor monitoring whilst I am away.

I would mainly prefer motion recording, mainly due to storage limitations and WIFI connectivity.
If I am correct, most of the camera's will email me few seconds of the video clip once motion is detected?
Will I be able to set the limit of the recording? e.g. 10 or 20 seconds etc?
I have a BT Smart Hub 6 router.

As I won't be able check the videos straight away, could I also store the recordings on the cloud? So I could check on it later.
I have a raspberry pi and portable external hard drives that I could use as a ftp server?

I researched into IP cameras and they could be what I need for a cheap price. I found Xiaomi Xiaofang but there seems to be some problems with it recently according to a HUKD thread.
I have a budget of roughly £30 for the IP camera and I am happy with ordering from China.

Recommendations will be highly recommended. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Have a look at this item, amazon.co.uk/gp/…TPG They are pricey but worth it.
I have 3 which work flawlessly. They have cloud recoding too and that is good too, although I only record from 1 camera.

Y-cam is the answer but unfortunately out of your price range

It looks nice but over my price range.
The camera will be mainly used whilst I am away on holiday for few months.
Excluding those times, mostly there will be a member of family in the house, so the security camera would not be required.
Hence, I am reluctant to spend over £30 for device that I will mainly use for three months.

I feel you may need to increase your budget by quite a bit

Took me about and hour to do the first one and 10 minutes to do the others.https://github.com/samtap/fang-hackshttp://bobbyromeo.com/technology/xiaomi-smart-1080p-wifi-ip-camera-rtsp-streaming-hack/#device_ffmpeg

Do they still function after the recent updates?
I read in a recent thread on HUKD that even when setting the region to China etc and after the hack, some are having issues?

They function fine, i haven't updated the firmware so possibly that's why, but last weekend we stayed with my in laws for the night so took a camera to watch our baby. I had to reset it and use the app to get it on their wifi, then reboot with the hacked SD card, worked fine then had to do the same when back home, no issues.
