Anyone ever had this? Today after using phone to navigate I closed the maps and put it in my pocket, then when I opened it up the screen had this awful pinky violet hue.
It’s not a filter, I’ve tried to work out if it’s a display setting, seems to have just happened today.
Phone functions but whole thing just looks odd.
I’m sensing a trip to visit an iGenius possibly for an expensive repair.
Phone is about 15months old.. ☹️

Has the phone ever had any 3rd party repairs carried out on it?

Loads of information by just googling …Loads of information by just googling it...iphonetricks.org/how-to-fix-the-pink-tint-displaying-on-the-edges-of-the-iphone-x-screen/Seems like a known issue. Even though you're just outside the year warranty I'd still try claim on the warranty as it seems it's a known issue the Apple is ignoring...Can't offer much more than that.. I personally don't even like iPhones.

Spotted that earlier, my model is an 11 not an X but I guess it’s the same issue, is the warranty 1 or 2 years? I thought it was just the 1 but may be wrong.

Typo on my side with the 2 year warranty I changed that. I saw other links too with issues back dating to iPhone 5.

I've known after a screen replacement the display can produce tints because of a cheap replacement or they've not quite connected it properly.

I'd personally demand a screen replacement under faulty electronics act (could be Sales of Goods Act 1979?) but that should be covered under known hardware issues in manufacturing process. Hopefully that solves your issue if not a replacement. Not much else to be done sadly which sucks. (edited)

Did you buy from Apple directly ? If so chances are they will replace it notwithstanding it is outside the 1 year warranty , just ask for a consumer rights replacement.

If not then Apple will want to charge for it most likely as your consumer rights subsist against the person you bought it from - in which case go to the party you bought it from

No it was bought brand new 18months ago, came sealed etc. Been in case, with screen protector, always looked after.

It was a brand new phone. I’ll take it to them and see what they say.

Quite a hassle but you try backing up your phone & then doing a factory reset. You’ll need to do a backup anyway if your thinking about getting it repaired/ replaced

Just so you (and others) are aware - the SOGA 1979 hasn't really been a thing since 2015. It was replaced by the CRA (Consumer Rights Act.) If an item were purchased before the end of September 2015 though, the SOGA can still be applicable in some cases.

It does a backup each evening I think but yes I did that, did the reset and then did the full reset. Problem still exists, phone still works. I’ve been on chat with Apple who cant fix it with instruction and want to see it instore for a repair. So will book in and see what they say.
That have said from the recorded serial number it’s only a year old so I’m hoping they’ll look at this favourably
