iPhone 3Gs vs HTC Desire? Help please!

    iPhone 3Gs 16GB: £300 (locked on O2) 1month old

    HTC Desire: Clearance £150 for the phone and £12pm contract (300min, 300text, 500mb) 24months

Never owned a iPhone or HTC phone before but done some research.

    HTC Desire

Both great phones, have you got a contract out at the moment? Only downside i can see is the desire is 24 months and 500mb internet.

500mb is a lot but if you plan to use it an awful lot then you dont want to be hit with charges.

Total contract cost for Desire is £438, are you going to go over the mins and texts as its not that much.

You could buy the iphone and use a Tesco sim only contract (i think)

    £10 - 500 mins / Unlimited Texts (3000) / Unlimited Data (500mb)
    £15 - 750 mins / Unlimited Texts (3000) / Unlimited Data (500mb)

Yes I've just come out of contract, free agent
    Thanks for the sim info.

No probs, are you still with a network?

If you are it might be worth ringing retentions department and a telling them you want your PAC as you want to go somewhere for the Desire, im sure they would give a nice offer to rival the above.

btw the iphone is locked on O2 will it accept a tesco sim?
I know the iphone has much more variety with apps will that make my experience far better?

Love my iphone 3gs 16GB. If its firmware is 4.01 or less your can also jailbreak it straight from your iphone. (Settings, General, About, Version). The Jailbreak is also untethered meaning the you can turn the phone off or reboot and the jailbreak remains (Which is Good).

Use safari browser, whilst on WiFi goto: jailbreakme.com, then the screen will show slide to jailbreak.......Then Slide the bar.

2 Minutes later you will have Cydia installed.

You will be able to personalise the phone with winterboard, get free apps such as tom tom with installous 3, save youtube video's to the phone with Mxtube, have video wallpaper with vwallpaper, etc, etc.

    Also just seen this

HTC Desire HD the upgrade to Desire.

    *FREE PHONE*
    - 600 mins
    - 500 texts
    - 1GB internet data
    - 24 month contract

Total cost of contract is £600 compared to £438 for the Desire on '3'

You don't have to pay up front for the phone
The tariff is nearly double what '3' are offering
    Better phone
    Quidco a possible £46 back

I think you should go for that deal.

Don't forget to look at the (HTC) Google nexus 1...
