    iPhone 4 on Gumtree

Hi, Has anyone tried buying an iPhone4 from gumtree. There seem to be several "sellers" flogging them off for as cheap as £180 for a 32gb iPhone4.

Needless to say, I am tempted, but there's gotta be a catch.

Welcome any experiences anyone has had.

If its too good to be true then it more than likely is !!

    Dont touch them !!

There is a catch, and you will be it if you go for the deal.

Even if you get the phone, I would guess it will be "stolen" from the original owner and yours will be barred. Avoid at all costs.

    maybe stolen

scam! full stop! why would anyone sell a phone at a 3rd of the price you can sell it for in the local, or on here, stolen maybe or maybe meet up and just take your money. STAY AWAY!

Seriously how can you ask? Bound to be something wrong at this price......

Thanks everyone. I would assume several of these operate on eBay as well?? Do i have any protection against them if I end up buying from eBay?

depends on the scam, if its a insurance sam, usually the seller will block the phone after the period where you can make a claim. Usually 2 months i think it is not sure, But either you are going to get mugged and not worth the hassle

Damn..!!!! So bottom line is that I should just go to an Apple store and buy the phone for the full price of £510 (or not buy it at all)......

THEIR FAKE! I've experienced one but i was too smart for them! Yeah, Temptation is a bitch!!!

They first ask where your located then they mention a greater distance to where you live e.g (im located in south east london, "oh damn i'm all the way in Glasglow"

Then they say oh they've had problems with Paypall bla bla blaaa! ****! (Paypall is the safest WAY!)
Then after they mention you sending money to their Personal Bank Account! (Am i stupid to trust a complete stranger) Obviously their NOT! going to send the iphone AT ALL! Not even for £180 - £200

Are you a rare breed of cabbage or have you just won window licker awards 2011? , numerous posters have told you it's a scam.

if something cost's £510 from the applestore as you put it, why would you actually expect to get a 32GB iphone 4 for £180.

It will be the lichfield inbreeds, scamming whle out on bail!!
