Take it into an apple shop, it will still be under warranty if it's a 6
iPhones dont use Android...

Is it a fake chinese clone iPhone running Android or is it jailbroken with android loaded onto it?

It prob needs an iTunes restore if a genuine apple handset.

Don't take it to an Apple shop, they will laugh at you and tell you to stop bringing your fake iPhones into their store!
You "friend" has stitched you up. That is not an iPhone. It is more likely a cheap Chinese knock-off clone. I would suggest you have a little word with your "friend".

He probably overcharged you for it too.

With a friend like that, who needs enemies?

If it's your mate who sold it to you, can't you take it back to him/her and say "What gives??"

I agree, sounds very fake,
Take it to an apple store and demand they sort it out, tell them it's a disgrace how they can sell such sub standard phones, maybe demand a refund.

P.S. Please let us know how you get on.
Now everyone has finished laughing, I'll try and post something helpful. Your phone runs Android, so you probably know now that your 'friend' ripped you off. If you only met your 'friend' once, then I guess you won't be getting your money back, your first and best option.

Your phone might have been messed up with an update. Your best bet is to find a phone repairer who knows about iPhone clones and fakes. He may be able to reinstall working software on your phone. You would need to search around a big city with many immigrants and foreign students who will have phones from around the world. Try to find the guy who actually does the repairs, not hands it on to someone else.
One possible solution might be to clear the cache of your phone:

Make sure your phone is charged
Turn off your phone.
After your phone is off, simultaneously press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons.
Hold the buttons until the screen turns on and there is blue writing in the upper left hand corner that says, “Recovery booting. . . . .” or something similar.

At this point, recovery should load (instead of the normal phone home screen) and you can use the volume buttons to navigate up and down.

Optional step: For some Android versions you’ll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark and the words "No command."
While holding down the Power button, press the Volume up button and release it.

Move the selector to “wipe cache partition” and press the power button to select it.
At the next screen select yes and after a few seconds your cache should be wiped.

When the process is finished, reboot your phone.

As a final DIY solution you can try a factory reset. This sets the phone right back to how it was when it left the factory.

However, note:
Just like wiping the cache, this solution may not work - your phone may just be crap and badly engineered.

When you carry out a factory reset ALL your apps, app data and personal data (photos, music, texts, contacts etc etc) WILL BE LOST. If possible, perform a backup of your apps, app data and personal data to the cloud and/or to a computer before you factory reset your phone. Personal data on a removable memory card will not be affected.

If your phone is running Android 5.1 or higher, BEFORE you do a factory reset, make sure you know your Google username and password for your phone. The phone will ask for it after the factory reset, and if you don't know its Google username and password you won't be able to complete the phone setup nor even use the handset at all.

To do a factory data reset, follow these steps:

Make sure your phone is charged

If your phone is on, turn it off.

Press and hold the Volume up button and the Power button at the same time until the device turns on.

Press the Volume down button to select "Recovery mode." If you need to navigate to the "Recovery mode" option, use the Volume up button to move the arrow and the Volume down button to select it.

Optional step: For some Android versions you’ll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark and the words "No command."
While holding down the Power button, press the Volume up button and release it.

Use the volume buttons to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press the Power button to select it.

Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press the Power button to select it.

Your Android device will erase all of your data and restart with its factory settings.

Hope one of these works for you. Let us know what happens.

So what did your mate tell you?
next options would be flash the rom but going to be differecult without knowing the phones really name/Id as all most android roms are different. is there any marking or labels or numbers anywhere on the phone.

also when you boot to recovery what does it say at the told (there are many different recoverys maybe that might give a clue to what it is
