IPhone 6S 128gb, best place to buy unlocked

I'm going to buy daughter an iPhone. She likes the Rose Gold 6S. I'll probably want the 128gb. Want to buy it in about three weeks time. She's going to study in USA from September for four years so need unlocked, probably not a contract unless there's a brilliant deal and I get the contract and use the SIM. Can anyone point me in the direction of the best deals please ?

TIA,

SP

Contract is an option, but since you will use it you need to check out minutes, data etc.
You can have a look at the second hand option on Shpock or Ebay etc.

Or check out below for contracts:

$649 in New York shop approx £540. against £599 in UK. might have vat on the USD price..

I would be getting one from the US and making sure she has a good value sim when she is over there, phone packages just don't to be more expensive over there so best to be careful.

Sales tax in NYC will add 4.5% NYC tax and 4% State tax. And there's no way to claim it back when you leave. Still a bit cheaper than the UK.

But it would come with a US psu remember. But if she's over there that long that's a plus.

In the UK only iPhones from Apple or John Lewis are really sim free. From the likes of CPW they'll lock to the first sim used and you'll have to get it unlocked to use a US sim in it.

giffgaff also supply their iPhones completely SIM free and can be bought on credit too

You may also want to check if the uk 3/4g is the same in USA? I understood they use different bands than Europe?

Thanks folks. She won't get one in the States, that's 7 months away.i will probably just go the JL or Apple route. Thanks for mentioning the bands issue.
