Iphone 7+ Data issue

Has anyone else had an issue with using data quickly on an IPhone 7+.

When I upgraded from my Iphone 6, I was advised I didn't need 10gb data as I was only using 5-6gb on average but I wanted to keep it just incase. My allowances refreshed on the 23rd of October and I have only got 4gb left.

EE have no idea why i'm using so much.

Anyone else had this issue or any ideas on why its using so much data?

I might be wrong but in pretty sure there's a setting that uses your mobile data to boost your wifi speed.

Double check all of the apps which stream eg YouTube, Netflix etc.... in case they are streaming on 3G.

I forgot to set them all to "when on Wi-Fi only" when I had my new phone.

With the new IOS there is a feature which is automatically checked when you update. It uses your 3G to boost your speed even when you're connected to WiFi, go into the settings and uncheck that - perhaps that is why.

No it's not the wifi Assist. I unchecked that when my data refreshed too make sure. Rang EE and I'm 16 days in so can't cancel.

Maybe background app refresh is on?

check your data roaming settings

App Store? Make sure it's only set to update on wifi. Those app updates fly through your data.

Also, use Facebook? Check videos are not automatically playing. Just scrolling through the wall and it loading all the videos will eat data.

How do you change it so the videos don't play on facebook unless I klick em

Are you receiving lots of images etc through whatsapp? do you use skype OTA? check if hotspot is on? someone could be using your phone as a hotspot but i really doubt it as you would know.
