    iPhone or N97 Mini ?

Choice of phones, should I get an iPhone 3G (8GB) or a Nokia N97 Mini ??

    I would get a 3GS

Personally - Iphone - I have both an Iphone 3g and Nokia N95 - I had the N96 which i hated and sold pretty quickly. The Iphone is too expensive but still manages to be brilliant and the apps make it sooooooooooooo good

i-Phone, think of the resale value!

forget resale, its one fone you will NEVER get bored of.
i used to be fan of solely Nokias, i in a way stil am, but if it comes to iphone vs blackberry or iphone vs n97, iphone wins hands down. what an invention! expensive, but well worth it!

lol.. look at my avatar pic! tha'l explain it!

iPhone hands down. Had a few nokias and samsungs in my time but nothing as good a the iPhone. Doubt I will ever go back.

Iphone, having owned most of the nokia smartphones they don't come close.

It is more a question of how you want to use your phone! But by a long margin, i'd definitely say the iPhone 3G/3Gs. It has enough apps, games, and usefulness to integrate well with whatever you want. I have a iPod Touch, which I use for tons of things, corporate emails, facebook, twitter, gaming, messaging, unit conversion and even some I.T admin!

Saying that, I LOVE the symbian operating system, which is staple on most Nokia phones. It looks like crap, but the functionality is more like a micro-computer once you figure out how to use it best. I use my Nokia 5800 as a Wifi Router to my 3G connection, and instant messenger, corporate emailing, playing old emulators (SCUMM) BBC iPlayer, GPS Navigation, and downloading torrents! It can be more flexible, as it allows multiple/background processes and PUSH services (which is now incorporated in the iPhone to some degree).

So you're the one! Isn't it almost time for your medication? :giggle:

thats a bold statement :whistling: the iphone does all that and more all … thats a bold statement :whistling: the iphone does all that and more all be it after a jailbreak

That is true but as you say, jailbreaking is required, which not everyone is up for doing, and even then, the background processes and management is still a big issue for me, which if Apple ever address properly with an iPhone update, may sway my allegiance.

I have my touch jailbroken, but some of the workarounds to do the background processes etc are still rubbish. It can only get better!

To be fair, it is better than WinMo.........but then so's having a root canal! :whistling:

Yeah thats right, but i've left things open using it, and when coming back, some programs tend to either crash (black screen before home screen) or just reload, and you lose whatever was meant to be open already. Maybe it has improved since i've last tried it?
