    Ipod help

I dropped my Ipod the other day and when I went to switch it on it said I needed to use Itunes to restore it.

Attached it to Itunes and have just gone through the restore process and it hasnt fixed it. There is a strange clicking noise every time I switch it on

Any suggestions as to what will fix it? Im lost without it

Sounds like the hard drive is Kaput, you can get replacement ones (I replaced my broken one, it's dead easy). Which ipod is it?

    About £30-35

I dropped mine too a few times and ended up with a clicking/stuck hdd.
    Googled the problem...
Turned out shaking it really hard and/ or dropping it again
    can solve the problem somehow.
Sounds weird. But like I said, solved the issue for me more than once. (and my husbands ipod too actually)

Glad we sold those last year though and have iPod Touch´s now. No need to worry about an hdd anymore...

really? How hard did you shake/drop it?

    Shake: Pretty hard.
Drop: From about 1.30m onto carpet, ideally on the edge of the ipod.
Both methods may take a few tries until you´ve figured out how to do it "right".

Try at your own risk though. Like I said, it worked fine for our old ipods :-)
Good luck if you should give it a go.
