Its a 4gb.
And it's been well used.

He said 15 do you reckon that's too much?

I tried to do iPod linux on mine, but I never managed to get it working properly - but I have to say I did ages ago, when the project was in its early stage and quite buggy.

I changed the battery, it's a very easy job, once you are inside the iPod. You can get much bigger capacities than the original one on eBay.

Finally, I also swapped the built-in hard microdrive for a 4GB compact flash card. I got much better transfer times and no moving parts, so it was good for jogging (not that I do any). Instructions ]here.

The only hard part is getting inside the case as the white top and bottom are lightly glued to the rest and it's difficult to remove them without leaving some marks on them (not impossible with right tools, though).

What battery did you use?

I used the same in the auction number 260234515756. It's 1000mAh. Look around and you may find it cheaper. It also comes with two screwdrivers, which are extremely useful for the job.

alright thanks for that.

Useful.

Getting into the Mini is fiddly although some patience will get you there, I reckon you'll need to do it anyway for that age of Ipod as they didn't seem to last much past 15 months.
