ipod nano problem...HELP!!!!!!!!

the other day i was puttin some more songs onto my ipod and when i went to ejeact it it wouldnt take of the "do not disconnect" so like ive had to quite a few times i unplugged it anyway.....well now the problem after that it had wiped all my songs off so when i plugged it back into my laptop to re add them it updated my ipod with like 20 songs then locked it and now i cant add or remove any songs and at the bottom of my laptop i have a pop up saying ipod corrupted or hardware broken

i unistalled all things ipod realted on my computer then reinstalled it to no availe

what can i do...is my ipod broken?if so how much to repair:-(

sorry i dont understand all technical jargin:giggle:

A hard reset should restore your ipod (and other stuff PDA's etc) back to the factory settings.

You will lose all your data on it.
