Is that too much?

Hello people,

Was at Dreams today and the salesman told me they sell 15cm of PURE memory foam matresses at £169

( Is not on thier website )and paying £169 for pure 15cm of memory foam seems pretty cheap

Have googled some sites and i found one of the cheap private retailer websites sell memory foam @ £94.99 but that is ONLY 3.1CM of memory foam on top of the matress and the rest of the matress being normal cheap foam.
(thememoryfoammattressfirm.co.uk/ind…php?cPath=31)

Basically which one should i go for, the £169 dream version or another version for which i can get from online retailers for around £95+?

(im suprised dream can sell PURE memory foam 15cm thick matresses for only £169 whilst other websites sell them much more expensive- am i missing somthing here)

any constructive advice much appreciated. thanks

thanks luoloo:thumbsup:thumbsup:

i do trust the silentnight brand, more than Dreams own manufactured beds, but sadly it says its only 3.1cm of memory foam in the matress

which in return makes me think how can Dream be selling 15cm of memory foam in the matress

starting ot get the feeling the salesman was leing? hmm

Go back and ask him to unzip the cover. I doubt its solid MF. More likely to be solid BS

If you get to see the guts of the mattress you'll be able to see/feel the difference instantly. Normally there's 2/3" of MF bonded to high density car wash sponge type stuff. Also be sure to check how dense the MF actually is KG/M2. Can't say as i've ever seen a 100% memory foam matress, not even sure it would work as the stuffs so flexible. Think you would wake up with nightmares about drowning in marshmallow. On top of that there is a heat problem, they REALLY hold body heat, it's like laying on an insulated slab.

One other thing I will warn about MF mattresses, they're a total pig to get out of. You try to lever yourself out of the hollow and your hand sinks. A bit like fighting your way out of quicksand  You literally have to roll off them:w00t:

Oh and as they're not springy like a standard mattress it makes other pursuits shall we say, a rather odd experience:whistling:

i love you!

you deserve your high reps shengis. thanks

So would a 3cm memory foam topper make much differance, or is it much better to get the mattress? Little worried about the heat during the warmer months.

Sums up what I think about them. Never again will I buy one of these. The heat issue is the worst - ever woken up in a puddle? Be prepared to!

i bought the exact same one from dreams for £169 for my son and i have to say it is SO comfortable, i'm jealous, its more comfy than mine! Well worth it for me

I lolled.

Hi
I'd been looking for a new bed/mattress and tried many ranging from £199 -£1200. The most expensive was the most comfortable but not at a price I wanted to pay.

6 months ago I'purchased a Sleepeezee, Latex Luxury 3000, 5ft Mattress which calms to be
100% hypo-allergenic, Dust mite resistant and Ideal for allergy sufferers, really happy with it.

Most shops I lookled at were selling for £450 but next day delivery on the internet was £320'ish. I asked in our local shop and they price matched so I took it home.

Hope this helps
