Is a Jaffa cake a cake or a biscuit?

As the title says the question is "Is a a Jaffa Cake a cake or a biscuit? If it is a biscuit why is it called a cake and if a cake why is it kept in the biscuit aisle?

    Anybody know the answer?

I can't remember the exact reason why but i know for a fact it is a cake (technically). This was on TV a while back.

I think the answer lies within the question really

If it lies within the question why are they kept in the biscuit aisle and not beside the other cakes? :whistling:

    Cake definately.

Well in morrisons the biscuits are next to the cakes. Its a cake definately, its not hard and biscuits are hard (for dipping tea into)

They are cakes and costs the VAT man millions every year.

Well with only 27 posts in 17 months you choose your questions carefully, so Im glad I could help!:p

well actually its a full moon
then half moon when u bite it

When the VAT man lost the case - as I recall it hinged on biscuits became soft if left - and cakes became hard.

Or was it the other way around? :whistling:

They don't last long enough to find here, Yum!!

If you keep a cat in a dog kennel, I believe it would still technically be a cat. ;-)
