    Is anyone here on JSA?

    Banned
Just seen something on facebook that made me want to ask a question. Is it a walkover on JSA? are you actually under ANY pressure to find a job and get work? when david cameron came into power i heard it was going to be alot harder to simply ''scrounge'' off jsa. Have there been any crackdowns of any sort or atleast more work trials available etc that your made to attend?

posted image below. seems people are happy to just happy to not look for work.

What these numbskuls dont realise is its not cameron they should be thanking, its labour, cameron hasnt been in long enough to roll out his plans for these scroungers yet mate, but over the next few years expect clamp downs on freeloaders, starting hopefully with false incapacity claims!!

Don't think there will ever be crackdowns on scrounging - most know how to work the system so they never have to work and have more disposable income than people who work their backsides off.

Yes but maybe if ''the system'' forced you to attend work trials or something or face not recieveing jsa thats surely a start? there must be some sort of way around it.

i could be on it atm since im not studying this year, but i dont really need it and imo since ive never paid income tax or anything i dont think i have any right to claim it

Let's hope so - something should definitely be done.

absolutely-its a cheap soundbite for politicians but I bet there isnt any radical change whatsoever-to revamp the system takes years, the scroungers will always find the loopholes. people claiming dishonestly,or with no intention of actually taking a job will always do so and nothing will be done to stop it.

the only "crackdown" ever introduced in the last ten years was the introduction of a private company to assess those on disability. Cameron seems happy to continue with the same company, despite the fact that the people who assess claimants arent doctors, and they frequently stop terminal cancer patients money,on the grounds that they are able to work!

Like all politicians, cameron will play to the baying for blood crowd and talk crackdown-end result will be sweet fa as usual.

Good for you micoo - but if you're entitled to it you should claim it. How do you manage if you've no income? Have you got a sugar mummy?

i am jobseeking and not claiming it = mind ****

Been in my current job for 2years plus now, when I was out of a job only for a couple of months signed up to JSA, all they checked in those days was to see if you actively looked for any work, which was just the sign in book were you write down what steps you took to look for a job, obviously you could make it up and they won't know! Not sure how it works nowadays.

Apparently I could be on it, but seeing as how I gave up work to have babies, I think claimin git would be wrong. When I actually intend to return to work, I'll see what happens. Personally I think I'd get along without it. But things change, so time will tell. I do know a couple of people on it, who just have to go in and say there isn't a job available which allows them to get the child to nursery and collect them everyday - they still get their money and have no intention of getting a job. I also know one man who struggles to get by working nights as a single dad. His mother stays in the house at night with the bambino, he gets home takes her to school and then sleeps. He has no life, but is (and should be) immensley proud to have gotten by on his own. (Well without state assistance at present anyway.)

my sister is attending job trials n stuff at the min and where i work they take ppl on on jobs trials and the majority of ppl want to work

I was on it for a month. They said i needed to apply for 4 jobs a month or something. The first job i applied for i got. That was 9yrs ago though. I don't know how they checked.

I understand you can flunk the interviews. But when i was there they turned someone away after employers had reported him for messing up his interviews on purpose.

Wouldn't an interview be classed as private and much in the same way you get into dodgy territory with a bad reference, so would the interviewer be in a similar position should they tell the dole office you deliberately flunked an interview.

Ha ha what type of interviews do you go to? When i had my interview for the police they recorded it for training purposes to be used for interviewer training. Think they posted my responses on youtube.

Not interviews for the police obviously. Will verify the lack of confidentiality within that organisation with a friend in the police though.

its the usual story - its the new claimers etc that suffer those who have claimed for years know the system better than the government and know how to beat it

if they brought in that idea of having to go to a centre so many days a week to be entitled to claim each weeks benefit, it would be awesome as it would help those that want it and annoy those that live off the rest of us all their lives

My "father" has been claiming it for around 40 years now and obviously has no intention to work especially considering he will be getting a state pension in a few years, at interviews he will always find a way out of getting the job.

What is it with benefit bashers? Its a real cheap topic, the politicians use it to take away from the real issues..Yes their are some real scroungers, people will always push the system but most people need it. Surely we shouldnt go back to victorian times? When people say "its not worth going to work, I'd earn less then benefits." People say benefits are to high, I dont believe that, its just wages are so crap!! On a personal note, i dont understand how they stay on benefits. When i was on jsa you had 6 months, you then went on "New Deal". If after another 6 months you hadnt gained employment, you had to do voluntary work.. Funny though, the goverment paid you £110 pw, which was more then the benefit. That just cost the tax payer more £'s, but kept the un-employment figures down, as they were classed as working lol...guardian.co.uk/new…uts

finally found a job for three/four months the other day.
