Is it acceptable to lose Sky signal....

...when the dish has a foot of snow on it? Haven't had a signal from the dish since the day after it snowed.

chuck a coupla snowballs at the dish-seriously-worked for me!

mines covered n its fine lol

Obvious answer I suppose, but try and brush it off. Same thing happened to us, a quick brush off and all okay again.

Agree with all the above. Our box decided to lock up following getting covered in snow today. Kept saying that the channel had a technical fault, but a quick reboot and it's working again.

Mine did play up for a few minutes, then I got the broom out and brushed it down and everything was fine afterwards
Sitting here watching man city vs everton oh what a game your missing ...lol
    Goood luck getting it working

Funnily enough, I had to do the same on Saturday.

it depends where abouts in the country you are, if you've got a foot of snow on it in Manchester then go and snow ball it and it should work fine.
if your in London / home counties and have 1 cm of snow you will need to dedicate most of the 6 oclock News to the story and then sit in your car a hundred metres down the road and say you slept in it all night and then brush it off in a months time when Heathrow has reopened

I have Virgin, avoids weather problems.

When I used to live at home many years ago our sky dish used to play up with the slightest bit of rain

My HD box has been playing up of late, if I power it on in the morning I get not signal, I then have to power it off and back on again before it does, and when I look at the settings it seems the second signal is not being detected.

As with the majority of other comments - I agree - I had the same issue with my dish, so I popped up there and brushed the snow off and surprise surprise - almost instantly the signal came back!

    Da daaaaaa!!!!

Cheers guys will try throw snow balls at it, no way can a brush reach it, are you in a flat or something?

I'm 50 miles west of London to the manc that thinks the North is the only place affected by the snow. Funnily enough the snow that hit us worse came from the South, but even the south doesn't seem to have got as much as us. Another 3 cm fell today.

I've just upgraded to Sky HD.

    I'm impressed.
The phrase 'No satellite signal is being received' has never been so colourful and clear

Sorted my signal now, took quite a few attempts but landed 3 snow balls, including 2 on next doors.

I lost the signal on mine when there was a couple of inches in front of the receiver. Knocked it clear with a pole and Sky worked fine again.
