we have a lexmark printer it take the No2 cartridge which are about £25 each, the refills seem to be a lot cheaper have never used them before though, so was hoping someone could help, the printer is mainly used for printing out the invoices for hubbys business so still needs to be of good quality. been looking on the auction site but reviews for this cartridge dont seem to be that great

No! You will die!

its the work of the devil dont do it

Go and buy yourself a new Epson from Tescos for roughly £40. Youll get a new set of genuine cartridges in the box and a new printer, which is 100x better than a Lexmark and much cheaper carts when you need to replace. When those run out look at somewhere like SVP or Bigpockets or Novatech for replacements non genuine and you will save a fortune based on what you are paying for genuine Lexmark. I have an old Epson cx6600 that has only ever had genuine carts in when i bought it. Since then, about 4 years ago, i have been using non genuine carts that work out around £5 for a full set. Sod getting new genuine carts at the price you quoted... you may as well get a new printer for that price !

The Epson Stylus SX115 is also an all in one scanner copier as well. It may even be better quality now since technology has moved on.

maybe have to look into it then didnt really want the outlay of a new printer but with the ink being so expensive might have to consider it, thanks:thumbsup: reviews on it are not that great

At the price even if it last a year its better than getting genuine Lexmark carts ;-)

It fine, you can either use third party refilled carts or do what I used to do years ago - get a refill kit and do it yourself if you don't mind the mess. You should be able to refill each cart yourself between 10 and 15 times before it's knackered depending on how careful you are with the syringe.

best advice is to bin any lexmark printer and buy an alternative (e.g epson). You'll recoup any new printer cost in 6 months as lexmark ink costs mroe than gold lol

my lexmark used to cost about 15p per page of A4. My brother laser printer costs 1p per page maximum!

ok had a look online laser all in one printers seem to be very expensive, but found this one staples.co.uk/pri…can anybody got one? seems like a good deal and surely the ink must be cheaper, the ink doesnt seem any cheaper maybe by about £5 but its not worth going to the expense of trouble of getting a new printer to save maybe £10-15 in a year

My laser printer cost £50 but doesnt print colour. Why not just get a laser printer for all your B/W needs and just use the lexmark for any colour prints. You can have two printers plugged in so can still use the lexmark to copy and scan stuff and print via the laser printer. Bought my laser printer 18 months ago and print daily and still on the initially supplied toner cartridge! I;d have gone through about £250 in lexmark carts in the same time.

HP inks are nearly as expensive as Lexmarks, you want to go for an Epsom, Canon, or Brother and check first to see if you can get compatible cartridges for it so you don't have to buy manufacturer cartridges.

difficult to tell probably about 150 - 200 on a cartridge, seems like a lot to pay all in the one go, although would be a few years before we would have to buy ink again
